Hello everybody

I got my stamp for my temporary gc............

The lady said we will receive our greencards within 4-8 weeks........

Can we apply for social security no's now? and what should we take with us to the ss office?

Thank you so much

Yes you can now. For curiosity, haven't you applied for EAD ? You would get SS # too with the EAD.

Just your passport is enough. If you want to change your last name take your Marriage Certificate too.

Here is the catch, in order to assign a ss # to you, SSA clerk should be able to see your status on their computer system which is periodically updated by DHS. Give a little bit time to go to SSA office.

GOOD LUCK !.....
