Scheduling the Interview

The NVC sent approval to the embassy who received it 5/18.

I have called to schedule an appointment, and they have told me that I need to call back in two weeks.

I realize that this is the standard response, but I was wondering what is the REAL timeline. It has cost me $18 so far. I had planned to call every other day until I can schedule. I really don't want to waste money, but I need to get this scheduled as soon as possible.

I am going to the Philippines on 5/30. I need to return to the US 7/9. I want to be present at the interview.

Any insight or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

We received the U.S. immigration service-approved K1 visa petition (I-129F) from the State Department's National Visa Center (NVC) on April 23, 2009.

Embassy Manila has simplified scheduling procedures for K visa applicants. Qualified K1 visa applicants can now schedule their own visa interview appointment.

You should contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center at telephone 1-909-101-7878 to schedule a visa interview date. The Call Center number is for subscribers of PLDT and Smart telephone touchtone landlines with national and international distance dialing features (NDD or IDD access). Callers in the USA can contact the Call Center at 1-888-877-9888. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Manila time). There is a fee assessed to callers by the Call Center for its services.

K1 visa applicants should have their case numbers ready when they call to schedule an appointment.

Embassy Manila no longer sends information packets to K visa applicants. Our website at http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html contains instructions for K1 applicants regarding the required procedures to follow prior to the interview date. The website also contains the visa information packet and forms which you may download, as needed.

If you would like to inquire further about the status of the visa case, you may contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center.

Future fiancé(e) and immigrant visa inquiries should be directed to this web link: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3230.html.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

You have your NVC letter and the assigned case number.

I called as soon as I received the NVC letter and was told my petition was not ready for scheduling and to call back in 2 weeks.

I waited 3 days and called back and this time they scheduled the interview right away. They will tell you dates available and you pick one. They asked me if she had her medical completed and told me not to schedule her interview sooner than 1 full week after her medical. I scheduled it for exactly 1 week after her medical was to be finished.

So call again. I think you get 2 or 3 calls for the 18 USD. If you received the NVC letter on May 18 You are good to go now to schedule the interview. My fiancee received her visa from air21 service in about 4 or 5 days after the interview. She is from Mindanao.

Also remember about the requirement to get her CFO stamp in her passport after she receives the visa. Allow one complete day for for the CFO seminar and receipt of passport stamp. My fiancee is from Mindanao and she received the visa in 3 or 4 days after the interview.

Good Luck!!

Mmmm I'm in the same position as my lady is waiting on the USE letter to schedule an interview. So, it looks like some peeps are getting the letters around a month or so? I want to email them too just so I can verify that the USE actually got the case/file and didn't lost in the process.
