Oh no theres definately no harm. And you are fairly close to your 6 month mark. For anyone who isnt very close I don't think it would do much good, but I suppose they could always contact them anyway. I didn't realize it had gone beyond that topic, I do appologize.

no problem...i will grasp any straw to get my visa and get my honey here

you can google " contact my [your state] senator" there should be a website for him/her. then you may have to fill out a form giving the rep permission to contact USCIS on your behalf. the form will also state pertinent info about your case; your name, info, fiancee name, info, country, A#, Receipt#, etc. write a short letter stating what you would like your rep to do......you can print this out and fax it or snail- mail it. then call them to make sure they got it. if you think your case has been "misplaced" or whatever, it might make your feel better to just know someone is checking up on it since you cant even really get anyone at uscis on the phone.

Just an update: 05/28/2009 ~ Received a call back from Senior Case Officer from my Congressman's district office today. She is sending a form to me to fill out and return that will give them permission to inquire about my case. I will fax a copy of my NOA1 and the form back to them and then they will send an inquiry to USCIS about the status of my case. Maybe it's small, but progress is progress.

I contacted my rep last Friday (22nd). Faxed him the privacy form. Called him Wednesday because I never asked him how long I should allow for him to check on my petition. He said that he emailed someone a few days earlier and is waiting to get a response, then he will contact me. I think I will call him back on Monday.

Today I got my 'Constituent Assistance Form' (permission to obtain information on my behalf) from my Congressman's office and filled it out and faxed it back, they should see it Monday. I plan to call then to make sure they have it and also find out an estimated time frame for an update. Good luck to you and keep me posted, as will I.

Our NOA2 came today in the mail dated May23! No email or update from USCIS website and status still shows 'Case received and pending'. Keep faith everyone and keep checking the mail. Good Luck!:dancing::dancing:
