Weird food combinations

Cat's sandwich thread got me thinking about this.

So is there any odd food combinations that you enjoy? Anything that makes another person do a double take but you insist that it's awesome??

I have a few and they are...

Canned tuna, rice and lemon pepper:

its awesome and my favorite thing to eat but it grosses my husband out every time I eat it.

Pretzels and cream cheese:

Also very yummy but most people give me weird stares when I eat it.

Toast dipped in tomato juice:

If I order toast in a restaurant I usually dip it in tomato juice. It's really good.

bacon and peanut butter:

I don't eat bacon very often but when I do I like to put peanut butter on it. But I have heard this is quite common.

Maybe we'll find others who enjoy the same thing we do and learn that we're not so uncommon after all. :P

Do they have nutella in the US? If not, I'm not moving! Haha!

We eat pretty clean...the majority of our grocery is done at Trader Joe's... Not really meat eaters

Wow Sprai, you're a real food mixer!

I don't think I have any weird combos with food. . . . . I'm very unadventurous.

BUT my mom eats the grossest thing of all time for like the past 30 years. Every morning. I swear. Every single morning. I think she glows radioactive orange at night.

Whole wheat toast with strawberry jam, then a layer of cheeze whiz, and then a layer of sliced bananas.

I'm not from canada but all of those food combos sound good to me but I'm pregnant.

except maybe the bacon and peanut butter

I like potato chip dip wrapped by salami

Ketchup on scrambled eggs I like too. Also ketchup or hot sauce on potato chips

My honey laughed at me when I made a fried egg sandwich on toast with mustard...its the best!! Then at McDonalds I ordered the McChicken sauce for my fries....to die for! I'm not a big french fry eater...and not really a fan of fast food so I had to do something to make it taste better.

Hi Everyone,

Ok, I admit, I don't eat anything that is too "unusual".

However, I'm pregnant (about 7 months or so) and throughout my pregnancy I've had the "weirdest cravings" at times such as:

-Oatmeal with Pickles

-Mashed Potatoes with Pickles and Olives

-2 pieces of Toast Bread, one slice with BBQ sauce, and the other slice with Cottage Cheese

-Spaghetti with Soy Sauce (lol..actually I just had some for dinner tonight...)

Oh and my "not so weird" craving:

-Mc Donald's Honey Mustard Grilled Snack Wraps and/or Tim Horton's Chicken Snack Wraps (eating an average of 2-3 of those at a time...)

Lol...Oh how pregnancy changes one's taste-buds! As for eating these foods/food combinations after pregnancy...I doubt it....

Anyone else want to give these "weird pregnancy foods" a try too?

Ant (Pregnant and craving "weird foods"....)

When I was pregnant I craved subs so bad with tons of hot peppers. Also egg rolls SOAKED in soy sauce.

It was when I was pregnant that I realized I loved spicy foods though... and deep down I think thats what attributed to my son becoming colic. :(

Totally weirds out my hubby also!! Honey mustard with fries is another good one, though I don't think that's super odd. Only to my husband :P

Hmmmm not sure I have weird food combinations or not. Guess I'll find out when I move!! LOL. I know Tim wondered why I ordered gravy with my burger and fries. I also like to put an egg with my burgers. Not sure that's too unusual.

So, as an American, my wonderful Canadian SO has told his family what my family eats as a snack on Christmas day and, according to him, they all say "yuck" and how can we stand to mix those "tastes". So, here's my chance to find out if he & his family is weird or if this is truly an "American" thing... like poutine is "Canadian".

We eat cream cheese with cocktail sauce (like what you eat with shrimp) poured on top of the cream cheese brick. Then, you put crabmeat on top of the cocktail sauce. This is served by cutting off a portion of the cheese brick and then you use a cracker (such as Ritz or Town House or Club Crackers).

Soooo yummy!!! I think it has to do with the sweet (cream cheese), salty (crabmeat), and tangy (cocktail sauce).
