We just received official email message from London Embassy:

'Embassy records indicate that the Immigration Visa Unit completed the administrative processing of your visa application on the 27th June 2006.

You should both should receive notification of an interview appointment dates within the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Thank you for your email correspondence.

Does it really take that long???????????????? I'm hoping this is just a routine message like the NVC who usually state 4-6 weeks on the automated system when its turns out to be more like within 2 weeks.

Those messages are definitely just their standard replies, and are usually processed much sooner than they say they will be.

I asked the same question recently....i got the same reply from the embassy but got an interview date within approx 1 week...wouldn`t think that you will be waiting long for the date

London finished our processing on June 12th, interview date August 11th. We got the same crummy email too.

Yeah - the email response is to cover themselves in case they CAN'T get a quick date out - it CAN take that long, but usually it DOESN'T..mine didn't (see sig timeline)
