what should i expect ? interview or GC ?

hi all

i filed my family based I485 in nov 2008 then finger prints, I864 and finally i submitted I693 in current month so recently my case has been updated by uscis after receiving my I693 .. so what could be the next step in my case ? should i expect GC or should i expect an interview ?

my case on uscis.gov is like this now ..

i came on K1 visa and now i have filed my marriage based I485 and its pending ...

Very often USCIS will not require an interview for a K-1 couple. Other times, they do. I think they just pick couples randomly to be interviewed. You might as well prepare to be interviewed, i.e., build the records that will prove that your marriage is real.

was your case transferred to Califorbia Service Center (CSC)? If so, you will most likely NOT BE interviewed. If you have not been transferred, you WILL BE interviewed.

USCIS let you know that they got your response for RFE and thats it. Your case is back to pending and they will notify you when they make finnal decision or contac you again if they gonna need some more evidence.If you already received EAD you good to go and the next step should be welcome letter!

You can check your case status online www.uscis.gov (type your case #) or register for automatic update. No worry, everything is going typicall way

my EAD was approved in March 2009 so approximatley after receiving REF after how many days USCIS make a decision ?

I don't think anyone can tell you the exact number of days. But I have seen two other cases that were approved within a couple of weeks of sending in the updated medical. I've also seen another person get an additional RFE. Hopefully, you'll be receiving your card shortly.

actually i received initial evidence in dec 2008 and i submitted it in january 2009 then in march 2009 i got my EAD after that as i mention earliar i was expecting my GC but i received addtional REF from uscis in april 2009 then i submitted it on 9th may 2009 and uscis received it on 19th may 2009 but they have not done any thing yet as u were saying that u have seen people getting GC after 2 weeks but in my case its been like 20days almost 3 weeks but sill pending ...

i've also seen so many people getting their GC rite after one month of receiving their EAD but its been more then 2months but i've not received my GC and one more thing that its been now 6 months and my case is pending and i've seen people coming on K1 visa like me then applying for AOS same as me and getting their GC within 3 to 4 months but i don't know why uscis is taking so long with me

i hope they won't ask for anything else now as all the things are done in my case ...

any one with any suggestion please ?

hELLO,

We live (and filed) in New York and after our first AOS interview (which was denied) my case was transferred to California Service Center.

Even we faced a second denial, a waiver and a motion to reopen before the comissioner, they just accepted my case and granted permanent residence with NO INTERVIEW!

Maybe you wont have interview.

finger prints, I864, I693, Birth Certificate .. every thing is done ...

You will be notified if your case is transferred to CSC. It does not matter what state you live in, K1s are much much more likely to be transferred there than K3.

Being transferred mean you will not have an interview, unless it is sent back from CSC to NBC. That means the CSC adjudicator who looked at your case felt an interview was in order.

hi all

its almost a month now that uscis received my I693 for my marriage based I485 since all other requirements have already been completed now uscis is not touching my case ..

i heard that after receiving I693 uscis either will call me up for the interview or they will approve my GC without interview as my case is in California Centre now can any one please tell how long they usually take to make a decision ...

i filed my case in nov 2008 and its still pending i don't know why they are taking so long ?

usually this case approves in 3,4 months but in my case its like almost 7months and still pending ...

last month when i submitted my I693 my attorney said they hopefully u will get ur GC within 15days ...

but i'm still waitin n waitn .......
