Thanks to Imaisha for pointing me in the direction of this - all of a sudden I don't feel so alone anymore!!

My case has been a bit of a 'mare at NVC but seems to be close to case complete now - I'm just hoping and praying it'll be in time for me to get assigned a visa interview this month. I called today to be told that IF it gets completed this week and IF there aren't too many people ahead of me (I didn't realise that made a difference) I might get assigned an interview next week. It's so difficult - on the one hand I feel so ready to go now but at the same time I don't want to get ahead of myself if I might have to be here for a few months longer.

Well folk, on the up side - what fab weather we're having!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone.

Bobbe

I moved this because this is a filer thread. Filer threads belong in the appropriate visa sections of VJ.

The UK forum is in danger of being overwhelmed with "I filed in February!" and so on threads. Specific questions CAN be asked in there, but filer threads belong in the Visa sections.

Thanks.

Mags, I understand why you feel that this doesn't belong in the UK forum. The 7 or so of us who are here would probably all disagree though (don't want to speak for anyone else so it's just a probably).

If you look at the visa statistics sections, specifically for the UK, here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php?cfl= and here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php?cfl= you'll see that there are currently only 6 CR-1 filers whereas there are 176 K-1 filers. If you spend just a few minutes reading through the most popular threads in the UK section you'll see and feel it pretty clearly.

We all spent months reading in the UK forum wishing and hoping for a little bit of information about the process we'd be going through but there was nothing there because there are so few of us. I think this thread will be an important resource for all of the immigrant visa filers after us who try to filter through the threads about interviews and paperwork that don't apply to them. There is basically ZERO information on the CR-1 process in London and we're all feeling our way through it with the help of the others in this thread. This is not just a "Look at us, we filed at the same time!!!" series of posts, nor was I able to find any threads of that nature in the UK forum so I'm not sure what you mean there. I wouldn't say it's "in danger" or that we pose a threat. This is a way to collect information about the CR-1 process as it pertains specifically to the United Kingdom. I understand that a lot of that information overlaps with what happens in the CR/IR-1 section, but if you consider the imbalance in our regional forum I think you'll also see that it's important that we be able to talk about our issues there, where other current and all future UK filers will be looking.

If you want to leave it here that's fine, I'm not going to make a federal case about it. I'll just feel a little neglected every time there's yet another thread about what needs to be brought to a K-1 interview or what happens at their medical in the UK forum.

Welcome to our little corner BobbeD! I think the operator's "too many people ahead of you" probably shouldn't trouble you too much. I know it definitely makes a difference at some of the busier embassies (Montreal for example has something crazy like a 4 month wait I think), and London is a pretty big one but not so much for the CR-1s, so I think we've all got a one month wait ahead of us. I guess we'll find out soon :)

Hi everyone,

Just checked in with VJ this morning and there are quite a few people who have already received their July interview dates. None yet from the UK as far as I can see though.

I only have a couple of days annual leave left and have already earmarked one for the medical in two weeks time. I need to book quite a way in advance, so I can get time off to get to London, so am hoping to put a days leave request in this week if we get a date in July.

Lets hope we hear something soon - the waiting is killing me

Fingers crossed and best wishes to everyone.

Hello everyone, are you all stand alone I-130 filers? I filed for my husband 4/2/09, he is from Morocco. I know its not the UK but your info helps me as you filed I-130s. I was excited to see that one person filed in March and got approved the end of march, that is so quick. And then another of you filed Feb and got your NOA2 in March. I wonder why we the April filers have not received our NOA2 approval notice? How is my case different from yours, or do we have the same kind? Ours is at the CSC. Hope to hear from anyone.

Take care and good luck, sweetcitywife

welcome to the thread.!

i wouldn't panic too much just yet, we filed with CSC to and it took around 3 months to get our NOA2.. lots of VCS filers that filed after us got NOA2's before us, i think its maybe that CSC drag their feet a little. Hopefully you shouldn't have to wait to much longer :)

I was just curious to see how many other people had filed for a CR-1 visa, everyone from the UK seems to be filing for the K-1's

I'm sure my wife and I aren't the only one's and it would be great to hear from other people in the same boat as us.!

We first filed in november '08 and NVC recieved all our paperwork on the 19th of May so we're just waiting for NVC to finish with our stuff and forward them to London.

I am across the water in Ireland- I received my CR-1 on the 8th may  so delighted- am in a little situation in that I may need to extend the visa to enter the states at a later stage due to family circumstances- do u know anything about getting it extended by any chance??
