noa2 today, so onto nvc next I guess :)

Wow, that was fast! Good luck at NVC - some people seem to fly through and others get stuck with RFEs and delays for no reason. They seem to pick up on the tiniest thing as a reason for an RFE so be careful. Sure you'll be fine though, you're almost there now!

Thanks :) This is one of the better weekend I have had in a while, such a sense of relief that this part is done.

The only issue I see over the next few months is a few trips I need to make to Egypt and Romania with work, hope it doesn't fall when I am needing to be here to do stuff.

hello-

we did CR1--filed in Nov. 2008 too--just finished at the embassy and Tom's heading home here on Wed! Good luck with your petition!

Hi there - how far apart was Toms medical and interview? I am coming from Edinburgh, and I really have to save my money for the move and losing my job, having to make 2 journeys to London for the medical and then the Interview is a real pain.

Don't quote me but I think you can get them done at the same time - the only issue will be that the embassy won't have the medical results so will have to give you a kind of provisional approval for the visa and it may take a couple more days for everything to come through. I'd give the embassy a call and check but I think you'll be ok doing this and it'll save you two trips.

I was just curious to see how many other people had filed for a CR-1 visa, everyone from the UK seems to be filing for the K-1's

I'm sure my wife and I aren't the only one's and it would be great to hear from other people in the same boat as us.!

We first filed in november '08 and NVC recieved all our paperwork on the 19th of May so we're just waiting for NVC to finish with our stuff and forward them to London.

me too 01 may 09

no noa2 yet.

london looks busy or they dont like me :(

BobbeD - thanks for the tip, I will try to set that up. I don't mind waiting a few extra days pending the result of the medical so long as I can make once trip. There's nothing in my medical at all that would give me cause for concern - save for a touch of mid age spread ;-)

How's everyone else doing? It feels nice to be on nvc with stuff happening now and again.

Visa approved! The hubby said the actual interview portion took less than 5 minutes. Really is crazy that all this work has lead up to a couple minutes of not much at all! Unfortunately he said that many others were not having such an easy time. There were some before him that took at least 20-30 mins... I can only hope that they just weren't prepared and not that they are going to get stuck with AP :(

I just posted this to the embassy review section but here it is for posterity's sake:

So nothing new or surprising with my husband's interview.

He left his phone and ipod at Gould's for six pounds right around 7:30am. Into the embassy for his 8am appointment pretty easily. A little waiting then at the first window they went through his file, saw that everything was in order, looked at his passport and took his fingerprints. They didn't even want new passport photos even though the ones we sent to NVC were awful.

More waiting, then he got called up to the friendly American guy interviewer who had already been through the file. Checked his fingerprints, made him swear to tell the truth etc. then asked only one question. "How did you meet your wife?" Then he said he was approved and it was off to pay the courier.

He was also given his x-ray, birth certificate and our marriage certificate back but not the police certificate. He was out a little after 10am. All in all it was thankfully very easy and painfree.

Quick question as this is where my hubby will be having medical and interview. What is Gould's?

It seems ridiculous to me the they have no medicals or interviews in Edinburgh. It's expensive to go to London twice!

Another latecomer to the thread, sorry.

We are going through the CR-1 process too...I have my interview next week in London.

So relieved and excited to be near the end, but nervous too.

It's good to see I am not on my own though :)

I had worried about the documents that people said you need to take with you, birth certificate, police report etc...but realised that the people posting were doing K visas...all my original douments should be there waiting for my interview, as I have already sent them to the US.

Anyway, nice to 'meet' you all and good luck with everything :)
