Hi guys,

Got the visa on Friday. Took less than 2 hours to go through the process at the embassy, so we were back out in London by mid morning friday on a sunny day. Made the most of the day by shopping, eating out at Nando's and generally enjoying being free of the pressure.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and support - good luck Imaisha and everyone with August interviews.

Best wishes.

Visa approved! The hubby said the actual interview portion took less than 5 minutes. Really is crazy that all this work has lead up to a couple minutes of not much at all! Unfortunately he said that many others were not having such an easy time. There were some before him that took at least 20-30 mins... I can only hope that they just weren't prepared and not that they are going to get stuck with AP :(

I just posted this to the embassy review section but here it is for posterity's sake:

So nothing new or surprising with my husband's interview.

He left his phone and ipod at Gould's for six pounds right around 7:30am. Into the embassy for his 8am appointment pretty easily. A little waiting then at the first window they went through his file, saw that everything was in order, looked at his passport and took his fingerprints. They didn't even want new passport photos even though the ones we sent to NVC were awful.

More waiting, then he got called up to the friendly American guy interviewer who had already been through the file. Checked his fingerprints, made him swear to tell the truth etc. then asked only one question. "How did you meet your wife?" Then he said he was approved and it was off to pay the courier.

He was also given his x-ray, birth certificate and our marriage certificate back but not the police certificate. He was out a little after 10am. All in all it was thankfully very easy and painfree.

Hi, I'm new here :) After lurking for quite some time, finally took the plunge and joined!

Was beginning to think that we must be the only ones applying for CR1 until I found this thread - phew! Still waiting for NOA2, based on the few others that have been submitted and approved since Jan 09 I'm hoping that ours will be quick too, although I'm fully aware it might not be

Off to fill in my very short timeline now lol

Hello! I am newlywed and new to all of this so I may have questions, It's kinda nice to know other people are waiting too and see some have actually made it. We filed last week. I see the package arrived at Chicago Lockbox 8/1/09 but we have not got the NOA1 yet.

My husband is still In Scotland waiting for the visa process to be done before he come here. Is anyone else in the same position or are you all waiting on the same side of the Atlantic?

Hey david'sgirl :) My husband is in the US and I'm still in the UK...some recent UK filers have finished the process in as little as five months - if we're lucky and things progress at a similar rate then I'll wait it out here, otherwise I'll try to visit later this year.

I was really hoping he might be here by the holidays but it isnt looking likely. It seems the Vermont service center is a lot slower and that is where we ended up.

We have been tried to meet up about every two months. It's really tough in between. I dont know how some people managed to get into US and wait it out here. it looks to me like the only way to do it is come over as a visitor and not leave which wont work. Good luck!

You are in the same area as my husband. Small world.

Still no sin of the NOA1. My msilman thinks I'm stalking him. lol

Don't worry, I think Vermont is only slightly slower than California. We've been seeing one another every two months too, and although it's hard it's still a lot more than most, so I try not too complain too much lol.

I check the USCIS website every day, my husband just laughs and reminds me that a 'watched kettle never boils'. :(

Good luck to you too, hopefully we all won't be like this for much longer!

I hope you get it soon david'sgirl! It's only been 18 days since our NOA1 and I'm already getting frustrated - I think it's the waiting around and simply not knowing when. It's not just about us being together, but also the practical aspect of being able to plan things for the near future...I really feel for those who've been apart for months and even years!
