hello everyone here in vj.... i just want to ask something here... if ever i will petition my mom so she can go to the u.s too, how long it will take the process.. and will my younger brother age 7 years old can be in that petition also?, bcoz he is still a minor..? :help:

N-400:
May 9, 2017: N-400 packet was sent
May 15, 2017: NOA1 
June 05, 2017: Biometric Done
June 19, 2017: Case is in Line for an Interview
June 25, 2018: USCIS Scheduled an Interview
Aug. 02, 2018: Interview Date- APPROVED!

You can file for your mom and your brother once you are a citizen. You are eligible to apply for citizenship after being a green card holder for 3 years. The visa for your mom should be available immediately as soon as the I-130 is processed. You should be able to include your brother on that same petition.

WRONG!!! Only a US citizen can petition for a parent or a sibling. A I-130 petition for your mother should take about a year to process. She will be classified as an Immediate Relative. There is no derivative beneficiaries when petitioning for an Immediate Relative. Your brother will not get a visa this way.

You can petition for brother as a US citizen. For a Filipino, it takes about 23 years.

Before anyone starts in on how mean it is for the US to separate family. Immigrating to the US is a choice. No one is forcing anyone to come to the US. There are rules. If you want the rules changed, petition your congressman.
