i am adjusting from a F-1 visa

In this case file an I-131 too with the (I-130+ I-485) Though your F-1 may be valid, traveling on it without AP doc will get the I-485 application abandoned. You need to have AP doc in-hand before attempting to travel out of the USA.

You will also need to attach an I-130 and $355 fee, I-485 is based on the attached I-130. I-485 has "A" checked.
