It has been depressing weather almost everyday here in Vietnam. It's like that one seen in Forest Gump where he was fighting the war in Vietnam and it started raining, he said "One day it started raining, and it didn't quit for four months. We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin' rain... and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath." It's exactly whats going on here in Vietnam.

I just got back from Thailand over the weekend and it was raining a lot over there also. Rainy season sucks! It's real depressing when it rains all day everyday here. It's raining right now as I am typing this and I hate it.

I hope on my wife's interview on Thursday it could stop raining for that day or at least day morning until she gets her pink slip. I would hate to stand outside all morning in the wet rain and get soaking wet waiting for her to get the pink. Sun, please come out on the day of my wife's interview!

At least you're in the south! This is the dry season in Da Nang and Hue, which means it might go a WHOLE DAY without raining!

Just remember that the rain is what makes Vietnam the lush and beautiful country that it is. I'm sure you can find some fun indoor activities to keep yourself busy.

Can't you find a nice restaurant to hang out near the consulate on the day of her interview?

Since it's rainy season everyone here in Vietnam, everyone tells me it will rain everywhere in Vietnam the whole season, even up north in Hanoi. They said even Danang and Hue can't hide from the Rain. My wife's family lives and Danang and she told me it's pouring over there this past week also. Last year we went to Ha Long Bay for our Honey Moon during rainy season and we were lucky enough to only have one day of rain when we went. They told us it rained a whole lot the week before but when we got there we only saw one day.

I don't really want to hang out in a restaurant because I've been told that they could invite me in and ask me question during my wife's interview. I would want to be ready for that and I also want to be outside waiting for my wife to bring out the pink paper.

Dang, is it rainy season now? What about mid June? Hope it would chill down cuz that's when I come back. Good luck on you guys interview. God Blessed!

Rain will come and go from the start of May until up to about October-November, that's how long the rainy season last, or that's what everyone at work tells me. It seem like this past month it's been pouring hard almost everyday. I think it will lighten up next month or I hope so.

Thanks for the good luck wishes.

I was being facetious abut the rainy season! :P

Hue and Da Nang are actually on the border between the two monsoon regions. They don't really have a distinctly dry season like the south. It rains all year long. The heaviest rains are actually from August until December. A lot of the outdoor pictures I took last November look faded, but it was actually just raining really hard. When I was there in late December and early January it rained constantly, 24 hours a day, except for one brief 6 hour break on one day - we took a nice walk.

I'm also planning on being in HCM for my fiancee's interview, but I don't see much difference between standing next to the wall for 3 hours or sitting in a restaurant 1/2 block down the street. I've never heard of a petitioner being asked to come in at the HCM consulate. How would that work? Would they send your wife out to get you, or would they call your mobiphone?

If my fiancee gets a pink the first time then it won't matter where we are - we're gonna make a scene! :D

What else better than being with your wife on a rainy day and watch the rain drop. :( It's pretty depressing though. I rather see some sun and go out to hangout with my wife. Too much sun is not good but too much rain is even worse. Like you've said, "Rainy or Sunny or even snow in Vietnam I'm gonna be right next to my wife".
