Hi All

Can someone provide me some guidance on this? Thank you.

I have been fingerprinted twice for the I751 Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence, and I just received a letter from the USCIS saying they were not able to obtain a required FBI criminal background clearance for me because bot sets of fingerprints were rejected by the FBI as unclassifiable.

Now, They want me to send in a signed affidavit regarding any criminal history, supported by police clearances or from each place I resided since I were admitted as a conditional resident.

My questions are:

1) what should I put down on the affidavit? (I have not committed any crimes)

2) do I need to get the affidavit notarized?

I live in Massachusetts (hopefully someone from the same state had had done this before can answer the questions)

3) where do I go to get the criminal history? ( I found this address, Criminal History Systems Board, 200 Arlington st. Suite 2200, Chelsea, MA 02150. Is this correct?)

4) the above seems like a state-wide police record. Do I still need to get a local clearance from the town I am living in?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, a statement to that effect.

2) do I need to get the affidavit notarized?

Yes.

Police report would work - I am not familiar with Mass. rules.

4) the above seems like a state-wide police record. Do I still need to get a local clearance from the town I am living in?

I would.

Thank you for your help.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I would go to your local police station and ask if they can issue you a criminal record check (just my name for it).
