Hello to all,

This is a continuation on biometrics dillema that's way back a year ago...

My last bio appt was scheduled last Wednesday, May 20th.

This time, they did not do my fingerprints.. They said that the appointment letter that I received was a duplicated letter of my previous one..

They said for some reason, the service center has been sending me bio appointments where in fact the fingerprints has all been done and completed??

I had my fingerprints done 4 times in a year.. and according to them, they just normally do twice a year.

I was kind of upset. I took couple hours off work , and drive all the way to ASC just to get a declined response from ASC to get my fingerprints scanned?

Lucky for me, I was able to speak to an immigration officer about my case without having an infopass since the ASC was not so busy at that time..

I told them my one year extension letter is expiring in few weeks and I need to get it extended for another year to keep my resident status ok.

They stamped my passport , they took my greencard and my old extension letter..( thank God, I made some copies..)

I also asked them, why I keep on getting biometrics appointment due to FBI cant read my fingerprints. She said, I should have gotten a letter from USCIS after the 2nd bio appt that I need to present police clearance for every city that I live for the last 10 yrs. For me, thats pretty insane.. dont you think? I've never received that kind of notice.

I was kind of worried because according to the bio appointment letter, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE ABANDONED, IF YOU FAIL TO DO THE BIOMETRICS... I asked the immigration officer about that statement, she said, no need for me to worry about it. Just wait till I get another notice from USCIS about my case... am getting tired of waiting.. feeling like your case has been abandoned and put aside. :(

Please advise... Let me know what do you think I should do at this point.

Thanks in advance! More power to VJ!:)

Do you think that maybe your fingerprints were possibly accepted and cleared? My son has his fingerprints done and then we received a second biometrics appointment. We went to the ASC and were told that his fingerprints were completed fine last time and to disregard the letter. Two weeks later we got another letter with another biometrics appointment. I contacted Senator Kennedy's office and they agreed to look into this matter (as the USCIS information line was not helpful). I was concerned that they might deny the application, because they couldn't seem to realise that they already had his fingerprints. The Senator's office contacted someone at CSC where the file was sitting and within a couple days it was approved. That might be the route that you want to go.

I would recommend contacting your Senator's office as well. They will require a signed permission form from you so if you are able to visit his office that is great - if not, they can do it by fax. Give them a call and enlist their support in getting some action on your case. Good luck.

Thanks to all the replies.

We'll contact the Senator's office if we don't hear from them in a few weeks. ( around Mid June)

Hopefully this gets resolved by then since I should already have my greencard by now.. I originally filed to TSC last May 2008, got transferred to VSC.. and I believe VSC is now transferring some applications to CSC.

To JANE 2009, in regards to couple biometrics notices that you received, what is the reason that was stated on the notice? Was it because of FBI cant read the fingerprints? Thats the reason that I kept on getting...

Thanks again..

No, it was always the same initial letter, saying that we had to do biometrics for the I-485 application. No other reasons given.
