K-3 Concurrent Filing Assembly Questions

Hi Guys,

New to the forum, been reading through the guides and the forum posts and I had a few questions about the basic assembly using ACCO fasteners.

1) Does anyone have the specifications for the type of ACCO fastener they used? I went to staples and they have many many kinds, ones that go down the spine and others that are on top. Also there appears to be many many different shapes and sizes. A link would be much appreciated.

2) In using the 2 hole punch, do I punch through the USCIS immigration forms (I-130/I-129)? Or just the supplemental materials and maybe paperclip the forms.

3) From what I understand if I am doing a K-3 concurrent 130 & 129F filing, I send both packages to the Chicago lockbox with a check for the I-130, but not the I-129F:

Under this situation, I am planning on using two ACCO bindings, with a cover letter and TOC on both to explicate the relevant details and list the contents. Do you think this would be an ideal way to do this? Or not really?

Thanks for your help everyone!

-Mike

Hi Socrates (Mike).

I think the other peeps have an answer re: the ACCO Fasteners, however, I would like to offer some help on the 3rd question you have:

3) From what I understand if I am doing a K-3 concurrent 130 & 129F filing, I send both packages to the Chicago lockbox with a check for the I-130, but not the I-129F:

When you're doing the K3 process, you submit the I-130(s) (for each relative, such as your spouse and your stepchildren, if any) first to the Chicago lockbox, then wait for the NOA1(s) of the I-130(s).

When you have received the NOA1(s) of your I-130(s), only then should you submit the I-129F to the Service Center where your I-I30 is pending (you will find that address on the NOA1 of your I-130).

You're right, no fee is required for the I-129F when you submit it. :)

Hope this is helpful.

You don't need to bind anything. Just use whatever it takes to keep the papers in order until they arrive. The service center will disassemble anything you send anyway and rebuild the file their own way.

Unless you have some strange reason for doing so, simply do not ever file the I-129f at all. It saves not time anymore and is far more expensive. What you really want is a CR1 or IR1 visa, not a K3. See the CR1 guide.
