DHL cairo... wtf?

Ahmed went to DHL today to send packet 3 back to the embassy. DHL told him that they don't send pre-paid envelopes with the documents, that the embassy just sends the letter to the person postage-due. They said the only way they do return-envelopes is if a passport is in the package, and he didn't have a passport in his package. They put his name, case number on the envelope... is this sounding familiar to any of you? The letter the embassy sent to him said explicitly to send a second prepaid envelope with the packet, so why would they say that if DHL won't do it?

I would write to the consulate, making sure you put his case number on the subject line, and tell them exactly what you wrote here. Honestly I can't remember if my husband had to send in a prepaid envelope but something is nagging me that he didn't. I'll ask when he gets home from work tonight. Seems wierd that the consulate would send something to him and ask him to reimburse for the fee. Heck they'd never get their money! lol. When they delivered his packet 4 it was right to his home and there was no charge to accept it.

Well, when they sent packet 3, that's how they sent it: postage due, he had to pay to get it from the delivery guy. which was kind of silly, because all of the forms they sent him were out of date, so we had to either do them online or print out new ones anyway. But that's okay. I will send an email to the embassy, but last time they took their sweet time (1-2 weeks) to reply to me, and DHL already shipped the package next-day delivery, so i guess we'll find out the answer one way or another soon enough!

When you go to DHL to send the packet 3 in fact they don't send pre-paid envelopes with the documents. but when you pay the fee to send the packet 3. its like you pay to send your doc and to the embassy to send your the packet 4 ( the interview letter ) .so they don't put or add any envelopes with the packet 3 .

It seems like Cairo changes procedure every six months or so! So confusing!
