Okay, since I have been critical of many cities and I have high standards of what a city should or should not look like, is there any place people recommend that meets the following criteria?

My criteria is:

  • One hour from the beach max, but will make an exception
  • Clean
  • Modern
  • Nice people (aka friendly)
  • Nice weather (hate cloudy cities and over snow)
  • Lots to do.
  • Side walks
  • Street Lights (usual civilized stuff)
  • Absolutely hate windy places or flat terrain.

Bloody keyboard, can't change the dam title.

What about Austin, TX? San Diego was actually my first thought, but other people already suggested that one :)

Haven't thought about Texas.

San Diego seems to be ideal. Close to Steven too.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Melbourne Australia. I thought you were going home?

I don't hate the country, just the dirt poor condition many NE and mid-western cities are in. As well as those cough cough who defend it or better yet pretend they are not run down.

The west coast looks nice and new. Then again a growing number of places in the south, like NC, are starting to pick up too. Really friendly people there too and easy going.

My wife's family owns a few houses on the outer banks of NC.

Close to Steve, wouldnt that be ideal! Cleo and Steve are neighbors! They gonna be hangin till the end!

No sh-t neighbors. That would be too funny. Hanging out with our peeps. Maybe we could cruise through South Central and then they can show me how I am wrong to stereotype.

Boston is not rundown. Been to Central Boston Park?

Okay yes I agree Boston isn't run down but still old and too cold. Boston is just not modern enough for me. I like new modern buildings. I'm not a fan of the Victorian look Boston has. Heck I hated that in Melbourne too.

Texas dude! Steve and Cleo got control of the west side

Steven and Cleo will be picketing my house.

You know which place I really like, Williamsburg, VA. The colonial places there are really nice. That colonial era would have been a great time to live in the States.

Austin, Texas is awesome but beaches are not so close. Nor are mountains.

Seattle and Portland are both great, but you will deal with rain for about 6 months of the year. Honestly it doesn't bother me usually, because summer here is beautiful and amazing.
