The funny thing is that I had just finished catching up on this thread about Colin Powell when I came across that pic and I knew what had to be done so I pulled out my image editor

It's not his party, but if that's the kind of logic it takes to be fvcked, then Cheney and Limbaugh have fvcked hom over good, too, as he has fvcked himself. I no longer respect his political judgement, and no matter what he calls himself, I leave him to the Dimocrats, as do many conservatives.

Powell has more influence among liberals who insist on trying to school conservatives about how they should be more like them when liberals are about as hard azz about their ideology as they accuse conservatives of being. They escue the "inclusive big tent" even as they recommend it for us. One thing that is not easily denied is the warm embrace any Republican who takes their advice and goes soft on conservative prinicples receives. Powell will get good press in the liberal media because he is serving their purposes, spreading their message. He's not that significant to those who hold to conservative principles. He certainly can't speak for us.

Ok, but let me ask you this. Do you think that McCain would have won if Powell had endorsed him? Lots of lapsed conservatives in the media couldn't resist fawning over Obama, and many still do. Would it have made a difference to them? The media was in the tank for Barry. They made a much bigger deal of Powell's endorsement of him than they ever would have if he had endorsed McCain. In fact, if he had done that, Powell would have been excoriated in the media as a handkerchief head and sell out. It's tough being a Black conservative, especially one in the limelight. It wasn't hard for him to endorse Barry; in fact, it was to be expected.

So am I to understand that you dont think his influence might of swayed some to vote for Obama. I would like to think that highly of all conservatives but I must face reality.

No I dont think it mattered, Obama would of still won but to have a life long party member endorse another candidate during presidential campaign hurts the party, makes them look weak and divided and gives the media even more ammo, ammo they used to ensure Obama victrory

Since Bush wasn't much of a conservative and McCain was more of the same, it was a discouraging six in one hand, a half dozen in the other between the old and the "new" with Republicans. I've already conceded that there were "conservatives" who voted for Barry, so that's settled. I just don't believe that Powell's endorsement made much of an impact except that the liberal media says it did.

We were told repeatedly before Powell's endorsement that Republicans were weak and divided, as we are now. Why trust a media that adores Obama to tell you at any point what the status of the party they disdain is?
