You would also need a secondary proof of Birth..like your SSC marksheet and its copy...a list of the documents required are on the Mumbai US consulate website...for CR1 its Packet 4.....hope this helps...the packet 3 list is identical to Packet 4.

That is not required if beneficiary has submitted Municipality/Panchayat/Govt. issued BC. SSC mark sheet or pass certificate is secondary evidence which one can submit as a substitute.

VFS Mumbai asks for photocopies of whatever you have submitted with your DS-230 package at NVC along with two 2x2 photographs. But on the other hand VFS Ahmadabad doesn't require the same, beneficiary can submit NVC interview letter and VFS fees and that is fine.

So prepare yourself according to which VFS you are going to go, also VFS fees is 394 rupees not 364 rupees as packet 4 might indicate. And make sure you submit your papers between 10 to 7 working days.

I called VFS, and they said after u get your interview letter, u need todown load packet 3 and it have a form at the end, which one needs to sign.

Interview for us is on 28th of July, called up VFS again and they said we have to submit documents, between 14-17th of July.

Just down load them onto your computer and take a print for reference and only sign the form with packet three, and carry it with you to the VFS, when u are going to submit the documents.... keep it if they ask....then only give...mostly the interview letter should be enough with the documents...but this is IF they ask.
