Please help.

My applicataion was returned to me this week after I filed for removal of conditions. I didn't write out the check correctly - I left off the 00/100 cents in the wording of how much the check was valid for.

Anyways, moved on from being highly annoyed with myself.

My question is, they have put some code in the Remarks section, on the front page of the I-751, now when I resubmit the application, should I attach a brand new form or just leave theirs attached?

I aprreciate all help in this matter, I just wanna get this sent in as soon as possible.

Thanks once again.

If it was just returned for the check, I would just make the new check, and send in the original package as "is".

You may want to take this chance to triple check your application for any other errors.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Also make sure that the cheque is issued to the US Department of Homeland Security - there have been cheques returned because they were made out to USCIS or to DHS. Yes, send back the whole package - same form - with the correct cheque.

I just read this post and I did the same thing. I dont mean to sound stupid, (Im not from the US, and I never knew this, we dont put the 00/100 on the checks where Im from) I write checks every month an they are never returned for this reason.

I just checked my bank online, and the check has not been cashed. We mailed it monday, it arrived wednesday. Is it possible that they just didnt get to it, or is it going to be returned to me?

Again, not to sound stupid, but did it say anywhere on the instructions how to write the check and I just missed it? I write checks to my banks, mortage companies, utilies etc all the time, i really never knew this.

I am from a "developing country" but even in the high school they teach us that the right way to write a check is writing the cents in the "text amount" expressed by a fraction XX/100.

I did a quick search on Yahoo and Google and in every website that explain "how to write a check" they said the same thing (to always write the amount of cents even if that amount is cero). I know that nobody is going to return a check if you miss that in your regular life but the right way to do it is that and we are dealing with a government agency (USCIS) and all depends on the officer that check your documents but in my case I prefer to always use the right method to write a check.

In this video "How to write a check" the "expert" explain the following "according to the grammar rules you learned in 7th grade... then the word "and" indicating the decimal point following by a fraction over one hundred indicating the number of cents"

Good luck.

I mailed my application on the 12th of May and the check was not cashed until this Saturday (23rd I think). The application was overnighted, so they should have gotten it on the 13th and on the front of the check, they wrote May 20th followed by some numbers. So, it seems to take them awhile to get the check processed. I did write xx/100 at the end of the written amount. In Canada, checks always had a /100 at the end of that line, in order to put in the amount of change, so it is a habit.
