Hello. My fiancee and I met again for the 2nd time December 2008 in Russia. After this meeting, we had decided to get married and my fiancee proceeded to fill out a G-325a and wrote her letter stating intent to marry me. Upon traveling back to the US, I encountered some difficulty with my employment. The change in jobs derailed our plans a little and here it is now in May and I finally feel more comfortable applying for a visa and getting married now.

I noticed the current G-325a has an expiration date at the top of the form (5/31/09) and even the one available on the USCIS website still has this date. Here's a couple of questions...

- My fiancee filled out and signed these documents in December 2008. Have I waited too long to begin processing them now?

- My fiancee wrote her letter on a 8x11 notebook piece of paper. She used a pen. Is this OK?

My fiancee and I have met twice in Russia. Once in June of 2008, and December 2008.

No problem. The G325a has not been updated. However, since you are a US Citizen, you will not be applying for a visa. You'll file a petition. When it is approved, your fiancee will be invited to apply for a visa in Russia.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

All is OK. Did she use a black pen? LOL They specify "black ink" but I do not think it matters. I couldn't find a black pen when I did our G-325a's and used a blue pen. I am such a desparado!
