It does make a difference as to what country as to how many people are on the waiting list.

But to maybe give you an idea I know a Russian boy from Oklahoma went back to Russia and married his GF in December 2005 he filed a I-130 for her in April 2006 she just got approved last month April 25th 2009 but now he don't know when her number will come up in the line of people ahead of her becuse there is no way to find how many are waiting before her.

You may be only one person in the world,

but you may be the whole world to one person

I know that a couple of friends of mine explored this (From India) - it takes approximately 5 years to get the spouse here - so, they file for it and then if they become a citizen before her visa comes up, they can then update or transfer the visa (not sure of the terminology). Of course once they are citizens its pretty much within weeks (or months). Some of them opted not to get married to that particular person because of this (most Indian marriages are arranged - so it's a valid issue to consider - since they don't know the future spouse at all). Good Luck

Thanks very much.So how long does it takes before she can apply for US citizenship cause she has only been up there (in the US) for like 6 months now.

An LPR has to be in status for 5 years before he/she can apply to be a US citizen. Citizenship can take anywhere from a month to a year in most cases.

P.S. An LPR married to a US citizen only has to wait 3 years to apply for US citizenship. (Just in case you see the 3 years number on the board.)
