with no more jobs to offer, professionel with degrees who had their jobs shipped to india now working McDonald's jobs, no health care for their citizens, the country going down with trillion$$$ in national debt. Unhapiness among the US population is skyrocketing compares to other nations. Over spending on luxuries we can't afford and greedy corporations who back us up with sub-prime loans, growing gap between the struggling middle class and the riches, the exhausting rat race for having more stuff than the Joneses now become a race just to stay above the water, broken families and children idolazing studid rock stars and models over their prozac filled parents who are drowned in credit card debt and over valued estates, China loaning us money so we can buy their own produced ####### at Walmart who hires illegal workers at discounted salaries.

Is it the end for our beautiful USA?

Land of milk and honey? I guess I don't hang out with the right gang! everybody I know seems to struggle, losing their houses, their jobs, filing for bankruptcy etc... most of my friends moved back to Canada. I don't know maybe I've lost faith about the american dream a bit lately.

Well, we haven't lost our jobs, filed for bankruptcy, or lost our house. And no, I'm not thinking of moving back to that iceberg anytime soon.

Not sure if you've read the paper lately but things aren't all peaches and cream in Canada either.

I guess we've gotten lucky. Not only did I not lose my job, but P found one in December just weeks after getting his GC and we've both got excellent health insurance. We don't own a home yet, but life is good.

I think it is what you make it.

Move out of the US if you think it's sooo bad? Then you will really see..... I'm Happy! You can't live on credit cards if you have a degree you should know that! Whats wrong with working at Mc Donald's if times are slow some income is better then no income.

Well, the USA is not what it was. Once the place for the best of lifestyles for any economical background you may fit in to. But today, if your not employed with a reliable living wage, being poor is extremely difficult and expensive for you. I am in the mortgage business and work on commission. I see all types of clients. I can say this, that if you have good cash flow, your doing well here. Most people these days who have this are those with government jobs in some dependent capacity. That is where the reliable money is and as a loan officer, when I know a client is a government employee, then qualifying is much easier, that is if owning a home is still considered the American dream. Now, I can say this and its hard for most Americans to appreciate but so what. Americans need to understand that there are better ways to live and treat each other no matter how much money you make or lose and that there is a better way to do many things we commit to in our daily way and we should learn from many societies that are much, much older than ours. If you have been hear you know its hard to make reliable friends unless they know they can capitalize on you in some way. And you have learned that public displays of love and affection and an offense and your lucky to have half the freedon you had in your own country unless your rich. Our founding fathers took many lessons learned from past societies, put them on paper and to heart, then fought and died to found a new nation. Now we have forgotten those lessons, disrespected and misrepresented the intent of our founding fathers/great leaders and greed for power and money corrupted into the mainstream culture mainly in my view, of a modern marketing machine, of corporate and small business America and the federal government resulting in taking advantage of today's financially week. So, there are places in the world that are up and coming at the same time as our country is going down, hard, and empires do fall, kingdoms have fallen. It would be naive and arrogant to think the USA is immune to this too. Its coming from the inside not the outside and the government and media want you to believe. Its the middle class and empowering women in the workforce that has allowed America to grow, and other countries have cultures that have been watching ours and learning from our tragic mistakes that we have no idea where we are going. But older societies may know our destiny and they are preparing for our self destruction.

They may also make you go and get more photos taken if they dont like the pics you bring. Just relax and dress wark because they keep the place really cold.
