When the interview is finished, does the Consular Officer conducting the interview tell the Fiance immediately if they are approved or not? Is it possible that we will have to wait until the mailed notice arrives at her house?

Does anyone have experience with asking to pick up the Visa (assuming we are approved) at the Embassy; as opposed, to waiting for it to be mailed to my Fiance's home?

Usually they do not but you can always ask. After the interview you go to another window for release and if you get a pink slip your approved. If you get a white slip your not denied but will be given a list of additional/missing requirements.
