Is it safe to swim there? Very nice place.

Have to go with "no" there ;)

It really depends. There's really no truly safe place anywhere in this state. Weather, wildlife, flora, natives are all just waiting for a mistake. But some spots like certain lakes or gulf beaches are safer than others.

The pic is striking and makes me want to visit. Speaking of swimming there, after my parents married, they took an extended honeymoon and drove around the country back in the late 60's. Going through my grandmother's papers one day, I came across a letter my mom wrote to her while on her travels, describing this prehistoric looking lake she visited (Caddo Lake). My mom wrote that she and my father went swimming there, even though no one else was in the water. My father has no fear when it comes to the outdoors (even when he should!) and my mom just went along with him!!! Wouldn't catch me swimming there, but I would love a boat ride.

Never ask a man if he's from Texas.

If he is, he'll tell you on his own.

If he ain't, no need to embarrass him.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
