hey everybody!

I was wondering what should I put on the G-325 form for the "A number" of my US fiance? Where do I find the number?

I am from Germany and I was studying in the US, after that I was taking part in the OPT program....so I got a Employment Authorization Card and I have a "A number".

Does anyone now if I can hope for a faster processing time because of that?

If you know the A#, list it on the form - if you don't know it write "Unknown" - if you never had one, write "None". (Writing "Unknown" is common - so don't feel you have to dig up your archives to find it.)

Having one previously doesn't speed up (or hinder) the process.

Wont have one until NOA2, simply put "NONE" unless your fiancee had lived in the USA on another residency type visa.

G-325A is used again when adjusting status, at that time you will know the A#

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

if your fiance was born in the US he wouldn't have an A number, the A number is an Alien Number... processing time will be the same...

I requested a meeting at my local USCIS office to see if I could learn anything since their have been no updates to our file since our NOA1 and the woman I met with there was able to see on her computer that our file has been "touched" several times and that they have already assigned my fiance an alien number but we still don't have an NOA2. This sounded strange to me. Has anyone heard of a situation like this and what significance is there to having been assigned an alien number? The woman there said that because my fiance has been assigned an alien number we can't see the updates on the USCIS website using the EAC number they originally assigned us.

Not sure at what point the A# is assigned - you would be reasonable to think that it would very likely only happen until someone was actually doing something with your petition (which might explain the touches) - why you are unable to see the same Last Update date changing as the customer service rep. is somewhat surprising (assuming you've created a portfolio on the USCIS web site you should be seeing the same thing as he/she).
