nothing is going to happen calling your senator/congressman. You are still in the 6 month time frame, so that is all they are going to tell you.

already spoke with someone in his office and they said they will look into it as soon as i fax the info. have you called yours? i'm just curious what you base your statement on? also every state is different. what my congressman might do could be different than what yours might do, for better or worse.

If your congressman looks into it before its been 6 months, USCIS will simply tell them you are within processing times.

again, i ask- have you called your rep? i want to know what you base your statement on. if you are just guessing, say so. otherwise, im going to call who i want to call and if it ends up a dead end, at least i was busy with it for awhile, therefore taking my mind off the endless waiting! not being testy- but looking at your timeline-you already have your approval- im trying to get mine, thank you.

uh no i haven't called them...i have the visa in hand already. i'm talking from other people on VJ's experience. go ahead and call them now. when you REALLY need it after waiting 6 months, they won't want to help you again. there are people on here who have been waiting over a year and a half. I think you can handle a few more months! if they were way PAST january filers at VSC, then you should worry. fact is...they're still doing January. leave the congressmen option for people who are past the processing time.

I appreciate the fact that you "think" you are trying to help with good advice- i really do. but like you said- you already have your visa, i don't. i know clearly that there are others that have waited longer and are still waiting. what they did and are doing to help their case is in their own hands- just like what i do is in my own hands. i actually have been working on my case for over a year- we just filed in Jan. You are not dealing with the tearful phone calls and heartbreaking emails-i am. I am trying to do something, ANYTHING to move the process along. its easy for someone that already has the visa to say the things you are saying- you are not in our shoes. so, although i appreciate the fact you think you are helping, i plan to do exactly what i want to do, including calling my rep, when i want to. if it helps-or if it doesnt- i will post it on here- to help those that havent recieved their approval yet and might be thinking of various options.

i WAS in your shoes. i had to wait, just like everyone else. i know how it feels. i'm more concerned about what happens to all the OTHER people who really NEED to call their reps because its been 6 months, or a year, or whatever, and the reps are sick of helping us because of people like you (and no, believe me, you arent the only one calling so soon) who can't wait the normal processing time. i just think this is a slap in the face to people like estadia who have been waiting a year and a half, and you can't even wait the regular processing time. i'm done with this now.

im glad you are done with this cuz frankly im tired of hearing from you. you already have your visa- why are you even on here? when i get my visa- i will update my timeline, say good bye to friends on here and be on my way, living my life- dont need to hang around. you dont need to tell me what to do or judge me- you dont know the details of my case or why i want to know whats going on with it. if i want to call my rep- thats my business- not yours! i only stated on here that i would so i could let others that might be interested in doing so, know what the outcome was. whats it to you?- you already have your visa! my rep's office was glad to help- maybe yours was sick of hearing from you [ i think i can understand why ]. i dont know why estadia had to wait a year and a half- my sympathy goes out to them. maybe they should've called their rep sooner. if it bothers you that i want to call my rep, sorry, but its my choice to do so if i want to...and again U HAVE YOUR VISA, IM TRYING TO GET MINE. usually, i dont get confrontation , but this waiting, compounded with you trying to lambast me for doing what i have a free right to do, is pushing my buttons. lets just end this here. you go plan your wedding and i will continue to try to get my visa so i can plan mine. fair enough?

It seems a bit unfair that someone that received visa in hand (in 4 months!!!) is criticizing you for trying to be proactive with your case. I contacted my Senator's office prior to the 6 month mark as well and I think you have every right to do the same! I'm not sure how much help they were able to provide but I do know that they actively worked on my case prior to 6 months as I was receiving letters and phone calls from them. It still took me a significant time to get the NOA2 (166 days), but without the help of the Senator's office it may have taken even longer. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for that reply. i plan to do whatever i can to find out whats going on with my case and that means not listening to someone that got theirs in 4 months- without much wait time or problems. Thanks again
