I went through some of the i-130 process shortcuts on this site and have following question

- if i am applying for both parents, am i correct in understanding that i (US Citizen petitioner) should have their original marriage certificate, original police clearance certificates, 4 passport size pics of each parent, photocopies of biographic page of both parents passports, and both their birth certificates.

me being in USA (i am citizen filing for my parents overseas), should i get all these original documents in my possession from them?

am i getting this right?

Yes, however make photocopies of them and send only the photo copies in with the I-130's, you will then later send origionals to NVC when they send you the DS-230 package.

How about :time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=44928 (Not many showing entire immigrations process through naturalization)

Also time to update profile to filed for: Naturalization http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Hi Rajthebam:

If you are just filing the I-130, you'd only need:

To file for your father:

I-130 completely filled out

A photocopy of your birth certificate showing your parents' and your name on it.

A photocopy of your father's marriage certificate showing that your dad was married to your mom before you were born.

A photocopy of your naturalization certificate

$355

To file for your mother:

I-130 completely filled out.

A photocopy of your birth certificate showing your parents' and your name on it.

A photocopy of your naturalization certificate.

$355

The police certificates, the photos, their original marriage certificate and all other documents will be needed when your case is at the NVC stage...

Good luck!!!

Once your I-130 has been approved and it is at the NVC you will need to send the originals of all the certificates needed. For your parents marriage certificate and your birth certificate, marriage certificates you can include photocopies in one parents packet with a note clearly marked on them saying "ORIGINAL HELD IN CASE ABC2009067027". That is what I was told to do by NVC for both the DS-230 and the Afidavit of Support, also remember that for the AOS you only need to pay the $70.00 fee once it will cover both your parents.

but if i pay only 70 dollars for one time, how will i be able to generate two barcoded sheets? do i just print two copies of this bar code sheet (showing paid status) and send in copy for one of the parents?

No when you log into the NVC payment website with the receipt number you will be given in the email, you will see that for the AOS bill that both cases are linked. When you pay for one parent it will also show that it is paid for the other parent and you will input their case number and print out their bar code letter as well.

Yes I will still be around.

Let me explain it a bit better-

You get 2 emails one for each parent, telling you to go to the website to pay the AOS fee.

You enter in the case number for 1st parent, follow the online payment instuctions.

You will see in the 1st parents fee bill that there is a related case, if you clik on the related case button it will show you your 2nd parents name.

Once you have paid the AOS bill it will show as "IN PROGRESS"

You can log out of 1st parents case and log back in with 2nd parents case number.

You will see that the 2nd parents AOS bill shows as "IN PROGRESS" as well.

Next day or the day after that check back in with 1st Parents case number and if the status has changed to "PAID" the "PRINT COVERSHEET" button will be active, Print out 1st parents coversheet. Log out

Now log in with 2nd parents case number and again click the "PRINT COVERSHEET" button and print out 2nd parents coversheet.

Attach each cover sheet to each parents AOS packet and then mail both together to the address on the coversheet.

Hope this helps
