Please help me i'm a little worried about the london medical! i've had medicals in the past for previous employers but i haven't been signed onto a G.P for at least 10 years! will this be a problem guys???

There's a very long thread pinned to the top of the UK regional forum telling all about the medical. You need to take a record of any immunizations you have had, so may need something from your NHS doctor records if you don't have a record in a little book.

Assuming you don't have any other major medical issues, the vaccinations should be the only thing requiring interaction with a GP - you'll need a record of the jabs you've had printed out if they have it and getting any jabs you need done by a GP will almost certainly be cheaper than at the medical.

However, if you haven't been registered with a GP for as long as you said, then I'd wager even if you registered today, it would take a long time to track down where your records are located and that they'll find them at all is by no means guaranteed. My medical records were partially lost when I changed GPs three times in the space of a two years and despite issuing tracking requests to the various authorities involved, they were never located. Fortunately most of my vaccination record did still exist

You should probably register with a GP and make a best effort to obtain your vaccination records in advance of the medical. That way you can get the jabs you need before you go to the medical and save yourself a few quid. If you haven't come into contact with a doctor in ten years, you'll probably be overdue a tetanus jab (TD/TDaP/whatever they call it) at least.

If you can't get your vaccination history, you'll almost certainly be required to have all the required jabs (except varicella, which AFAIK is still not available in the UK). Again, you can probably choose to get this done at your GP's surgery because it will likely be cheaper than getting it done at the medical.

At the end of the day, though, in the worst case scenario if you turn up at the medical with no jabs and no history, it shouldn't cause any delay, it'll just make your visit rather expensive and you'll leave with more holes in your arms than a Swiss cheese
