I am going to echo what every one else has said, it depends on where you live how culturally diverse it is and with what people you interact with. Most Americans understand that it is a small group of Muslims who are "extremist" and want to kill Americans. Unfortunately the media does not explain that very well and instead portray it in a different light. I have had friends in the US military who have come back from serving in Iraq or Afghanistan are definitely are not the same people before they left. They saw and did things that traumatized them, however do not seek professional help, but they are the ones needing it so badly! They have also told me that 100% of the time they see a person in the U.S. with a turbin on or "looks" from the Middle East region that they start to have flashbacks and they do not know if you are the enemy or an innocent civilian. Obviously not all military members will go to Iraq or Afghanistan depending your branch and your job classification and not all will have the same adjustment to living back to "normal" in the U.S.

i hate wars

it kills innocents

trust me there is no use fighting afghanis or terrorists this war will expand and grow and will claim more lives

Well, I guess the thing you have to remember is that there is going to be prejudice everywhere. Maybe not directed at you, maybe not directed toward anything you believe in, but it's going to be there. People can and will be cruel, especially in the face of something they don't understand. Many people don't understand Islam, so they think they have a reason to be afraid of it and condemn it. Just ignore them, they aren't worth your time. My husband is muslim and he has not once come across any type of discrimination. He has made several friends and I think you may find that people are becoming more accepting of muslims than they may have been around 9/11 because many people are not so quick to associate 9/11 solely with Islam anymore. Actually, in my area, I am finding that people are more accepting and understanding of Islam because they've taken the time to try to gain a better understanding of the religion. I hope that you will have a positive experience here in the states when you arrive, best of luck :-)

my cousins one living in Misouri and one living in virgina are called terrorists by class fellows.although they were born and raised in america.

the media i wiould like to tell you some events they exaggerated.

a few weeks ago

it was all over the media islamabad is going to go in the hands of taliban

talibans are coming close to islamabad

paksitan is about to go in the hands of talibans

all the speculations were on the t.v

there were analysts,debats and discussions on it

i m living near islamabad.its like 20-25 mins from where i am living.

there is nothing like the media is showing on T.V

there is one more propaganda that talibans are looking for the nukes of pakistan

they will capture the nukes of pakistan

i think this is a well planned propaganda to actually deprive paksitan of its nuclear weapon.

and before that america destroyed iraq saying they had nuclear weapons or so called weapons of mass destruction

more than one million iraqis died in tha battle imposed by america and europe and yet there were no eapons of mass destruction.

afghanistan used to be the home and head quarters of alqaida but now the american army officers say pakistan is home and head quarters of taliban and alqaida

as a matter of fact america and europe have failed in afghanistan

taliban are controlling most of the land in afghanistan

american troops are just limited to few bases in kabul and some bigger cities.

but the T.V is showing what some people want it to show.

its biased.

My take on not just muslims but all religion

Hmm just about every war in history has been fought over religion. I'm not saying all but most. Lets break this down some. It's muslim this, Christian that, lets take away the religion and what do you have left...plain ordinary people. If the world's masses were not religious we could come together as the human race and accomplish great things. Religion is the altimate evil plain and simple. Religion makes to many people narrow minded in their beliefs to stop and try to under stand their fellow human. I'm going to touch on the bible,quran or what ever its called and any another other "bible" type of book for a minute. Who is not to say one cold night in the desert these people were cold,hungry and lonely. They found some bushes and mushrooms growing and wala they had a merry feast.

Un-known to them the bush they were burning was marijuana and the mushroom made them "trip" and wala religion was born. I can tell you, I am not religious in any bone of my body but my god I got ahold of some mj and shrooms a few times that had me freaked out. To this day I still have a hard time beleiving it was just a bad trip and not real. The point to this is nobody know if God is real or not yet more blood has been spilled in his name then any other reason in history...all based on some writings that may or may not have been a bad trip.

Personally I could f"n care less what religion someone is till they start telling me how to live my life then watch out, you going to get a ear full of language that would make a sailor blush. I take a person for who they are, how they treat me. Treat me well and I will treat you well. Treat others well and others will treat you well. You act stupid they you get treated stupid. You come to this country and start crying that people are not treating you well and well hmm my guess is your not treating them well. When in Rome....

I am a non-Asian. I was born in the USA of German decent. Whether it is a Pakistani Muslim or a Muslim from another country, what I see is Muslims that claim the USA is against them. The reason they see that I believe is for some reason the Muslim belief sees the religion as the state or as their government. In the USA we have differentiated between the state and religion. There is also a problem with a religion where it is ok to kill a non-Muslim. Then Muslims claim the USA is at war with the Muslim religion. No, this is not true. The USA is at war with terrorists without a differentiation of whether they are Muslim of non-Muslim. Yes, there is a hesitation toward Muslims, because the religion wants to kill non-Muslims. I am sure the attitude against this hesitation toward Muslims would change if the non-militant Muslims would disavow the actions of the militant Muslims and make a differentiation between the two. Of course Americans would have irritating remarks against a group of people that want to kill them. If you are a Muslim and wish to live and work in the USA in a peaceful manor, I welcome you.

Then they should know they have the right not to be treated that way. Was it at school? They should have reported it to the school's administration - immediately. Was it elsewhere? Then they should have filed a complaint with the local police. If they did nothing about it but complain, the shame's on them. We teach people how to treat us and by doing nothing they taught their classmates it's okay.
