Potato Chips in Sandwiches

I do it too - Lays potato chips on chicken salad sandwiches...I showed it to my Canadian SO the other day and he actually tried it and then put more on his sandwich! It adds a nice crunch.

why are you all getting disgusted. At birthday parties as a kid, we always used to have hamburgers with chips on the side. Its all gonna mix in your stomach anyways!

I would call pringles a mashed potato snack... rather than a chip. They mash the chips, and then bake them. That's why nothing tastes like a pringle.

In particular, I have a friend who puts All Dressed chips into their Subway subs. I like the taste and texture, but never think to do it.

How about dipping french fries in a Wendy's frosty or McDonald's icecream?

My roommate back in North Carolina used to put vanilla ice cream in a glass of coke.

Everybody thought it was normal but i never understood why she would not have them seperate and drink the coke after eating the ice cream...

I think they sometimes view chips as a french-fry substitute or something. In England they often put chips in sandwiches and/or eat them on the side as part of the meal too. I see lots of people in teh US eating chips as part of their meals as if they are a food group. Wierd!

You mean, chips aren't a standard snack - aka food group - in Canada?? Really? Wow. I leanred something new! Pringles are the best!

Ohhh... the sweet and salty combo! Yummm! Here's one... super salty chips (think Wavy Lay's) with melted chocolate!!! OMG... something I thought would be totally weird & perhaps gross. But, it is a delicacy with my friend's family! That's where I learned to LOVE it!

It is all about balancing the sweet with the salt.

I do that all the time. The thing i thought was weird when I first got here was that the chips come as a sandwich accopaniment here, and usually a pickle as well,.....I was like WTH??!!!...Now I am just used to it.

Hubby laughed at me the first time I had a sandwich with chips in it,..nothing else, just chips. must be a british/aussie thing,....becasue we do the hot chips in buttered bread as well, and the brits call that a "buttie"
