Basically as I was on AP for 13 months every inquiry to the senator (mine was Barack Obama!) produced the same generic e-mail from the embassy, only I wouldn't have even gotten THAT if it was me who was inquiring the embassy. There is not expediating in AP, it is issued by the U.S consulate, the senators also part of the same body of government, they would not say differently from one another. Anyone who claims their senator helped is mainly going on misinformation, or their AP happened to finish around that time. AP is a set of checks run by agencies of the U.S and the countries deemed the T countries are to go under stricter scrutiny. UAE, being a Middle East region will call for extended AP and if you are lucky, only one set of checks will be done for you ad the visa will be issued quickly. For most people on AP the checks are conducted, get expired and are conducted again, every single check, which explains the 8-12+ month wait times seen in this forum. You are better off contacting the Senator when you have waited a reasonable amount of time, which is around 4 months. After this time contacting the Senator may have some more weight on your case. Otherwise at the early stage, the checks may have not even been completed and for the visas to be issued, every check must show a "CLEAR" otherwise they are re-run.

I wish you the best and hopefully you won't suffer through the AP hell.

God bless,

Tam

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.
