I know this is my first post, but I have been lurking here for quite sometime. My fiance had his interview at the consulate in Casablanca yesterday. He was interviewed by the Asian CO and was denied. The denial seems spurious to me. She asked him odd questions, like what high school I graduated from and what is the name of the swimming pool that I swim in. She grilled him for about an hour, and then said that she didn't see anything that could sustain a marriage.

I am shocked to say the least. My fiance and I have been together for almost 3 years. He had with him plenty of proof of an ongoing relationship, which she refused to look at, then denied us on the basis that we didn't have proof of an ongoing relationship.

I have been on the phone with my senator's office, emailed the consulate requesting a review and faxed letters of support to the consulate.

What else should I be doing? Waiting is killing me...

It sounds as if you are in the right direction. Have you gone to the pinned topic?

Good thought here. Even if the CO won't let you into the room, it would be pretty tough to claim the relationship isn't legit if you are sitting there. Also, it seems to me that the CO overstepped the lines of inquiry in your case. Good Luck!

Did she use the word denied, or sending back to US or what exactly did she say. Our case has been sent back as of April 28th. We know how you feel. Very frustrating when they wont even look at the evidence you are supplying them with. We sent letters of suppor from family and f riends, but that didnt seem to do any good for us. They sent Houcines case back (they say) the next day. We didnt have any time to even rebuttle. Let us know whats happening and exactly the CO said.

Also, when its a male applying for the VISA, the conulant is much more strict and apt to send back to USCIS.

It looks like my getting right on the case when the denial came was a good thing. I received a call from Abdel this morning. He told me that the consulate called, and he has another appointment on the 28th of May. When he asked what he should bring....he was told his passport.

To be honest, I think that the consulate agreed just to make me stop monopolizing their fax line and to stop filling their email box. Whatever the reason, I'm not complaining.

Thank you all for your advice and good wishes...

I just want to say those questions are ridiculous. I have been married to my husband for 9 years, known him for 12 and he has no clue what the name of my highschool is, nor does he know the name of the swimclub that HE and my family go to!

Seriously, that Embassy needs some drastic overhaul.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

unless yours was the last to fill the (case, box, pouch) whatever they call it it probably was around for a few weeks they dont usually go real fast, if it left that long ago they should be able to give you the pouch number and when it arrived and yes Nagi Casa's people need alot of help following their own rules. We gather all this info, take it and they dont even look at most of it...seems they kinda use their own personal (conclusions) about issues that maybe sometimes are of a personal nature that shouldnt be entered into under normal circumstanes instead of following the guidelines of general questioning
