Don't let it upset you - just ask people nicely, perhaps by private message. So many people don't know ... all they need is a little guidance. As for those who know how but just refuse, well, there's nothing to be done about them - we can only do the best we can :)

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Can anyone tell me why my timeline won't seem to update over there on the left <------. It says AOS pending, when I put in that it was approved about 2 years ago.

Next to your name where it says "Logged in as: jane2009" in the very light blue bar just below the smiling people, click "My Controls".

On the left, about halfway down, click "Edit Profile Information". Again, about halfway down you will see the option to change status.

Try the following to update that information:

My Controls--->Edit Profile Information--->(scroll down)Immigration Status--->(use the drop down list)Removing Conditions--->(scroll down to button)Ammend Profile

Yeah, I've noticed many VJers don't have their timelines filled, including some that are old timers here. Also noticed many never updated theirs after the first step (K1, K3, etc), so they have that info up but not stuff down the road.

Speaking of timelines... I see that some of you did your walk-in biometrics before the biometrics appointment date. Do you encourage that? Does it speed up the process at all?

06/09/2009 Approval notice sent for AP

Hi ElsieChicoFocus,

Lol...it looks like you've been reading my timeline, as yes, I was one of those who did a walk-in I-751 biometrics (about a week earlier than scheduled, sometime in September 2008) before my appointment date at my "non-local" district office...

I did so more out of necessity (medical and transportation reasons), as you can read further about it here:

I'm not sure if a walk-in biometrics makes the case any faster (lol..I've been waiting for 9 months+, as you can see). But if you need to do so out of necessity and/or for any other important reasons, by all means go for it and make the "gamble". Oh and just in case they ask (though they didn't ask for me), just make you have some sort of paperwork showing as to why you need your appointment done earlier than scheduled.

I just wanted to encourage everyone to fill in their timelines. The answers to the questions we all ask depend upon us having valid data and valid experiences to refer to. It's pointless asking a question if nobody has the answer to it. So ... for accurate, timely answers ... :time:
