Hi all,

I just wanted to encourage everyone to fill in their timelines. The answers to the questions we all ask depend upon us having valid data and valid experiences to refer to. It's pointless asking a question if nobody has the answer to it. So ... for accurate, timely answers ... :time:

And on a personal note ... I've decided not to answer questions from anyone who has been on the boards for a while and does not have a timeline updated or filled in. Sorry to be so harsh, but I depend on your info as much as you depend on mine.

Hi Everyone,

I agree.... :time: VJers!

By doing this small simple thing of creating and updating your immigration timeline, it will be helping you in "keeping track and organized and get support and help" for your immigration journey and everyone else here on the boards can "learn from and compare from" your timeline too. I'ts definitely a good reference and information worthy to have such updated, indeed.

On that note, feel free to read my (updated and detailed) VJ timeline here, as an example: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=30530

Hope this helps. Good luck on your journeys too.

Hi Everyone,

Ok...there are three main ways of "filling in your timeline"....

1) Using the VJ "Timelines" tool, which takes you to a separate member's timeline page (My Assistant--> Edit/Add my Timeline)

2) Adding a timeline on your VJ "Signature", which will appear at the bottom of all your forum posts

(My Assistant --> Edit Forums Signature)

3) Adding your name and information on an "unofficial list" on specific forum posts (For example, I-751 VSC Status List, etc.)

Do whatever feels right for you in terms of updating you timeline here on VJ. Either way, just update your information anyways.

Or heck, do what I did...Update all three of them!!!...

Hope this helps further. Good luck on the rest of your immigration journeys too.

Remember: :time: Thank you.

Along these lines, the Stuck AP@NVC statistics page that I maintain is dependent upon VJ timelines. So is the Igors Page. The data on those sites is only as good as the information people provide in their timelines.

Many people are aware of Igors page, and are careful to update their NOA1 and NOA2 dates so that their Igor data is accurate.

Far fewer people get stuck AP@NVC, and so are not as aware of the need to have accurate timeline data for the NVC Received and NVC Left dates. Even if you didn't get stuck, please please please fill in these fields so our tables get populated correctly! We have so many cases of people that have an NVC Received date but the NVC Left is blank. The script I wrote tries to detect if such a person was really stuck, but it's much more accurate if you fill in both dates. Thank you!

AntandD gives good advice but the one I really want updated most of all is number 1) that way,the information will always be there and will count in the databases mentioned.

You will find the "Immigration Timelines" link at the top of just about every page in the narrow blue banner right under the pictures of the smiling, happy couples. Sorry I never know there's that function. So I did just now fill out the timeline on I-751, hope that helps. I chose not to fill out the I-130/I-485 timeline since it was more than 2 years ago, I don't remember much and I don't think that would help any either. If there's anything else that I need to do, please feel free to let me know. Thanks!
