You do not have to schedule a drop-off date for your DS-230, Part 1. As you know it currently takes about 2-3 weeks just to get an appointment to drop off the DS-230 Part 1...then another 3-4 weeks to get an interview date.

I mailed the completed DS-230 Part 1, with a cover letter requesting an interview date via DHL. It took approximately a week to get Packet 4 mailed out from the date the Embassy got the hardcopy file from the NVC.

We received our interview date for June 18, 2009 at 8:30 AM!!! Thank you Jesus! You are so worthy of all my praises! GLORY!!!!!:dance:

We may be able to get this pinned if you guys find it useful in any way. I can also provide a copy of the cover letter if any one is interested.

Yay!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Jawi! That's awesome!! This is a great short cut. Did they email you packet 4 or did you actually get it in the snail mail? You are only 3 days after me! This is going to be a GREAT week (atleast for us!).

Will you be able to go to the interview? I know you are still in a lot of pain.

Great Jawi, that date is right around the corner.

Thanks! I know! I was actually thinking it would be the end of June. I guess I should have been more specific in my request...not that I'm complaining in any way!

How far are you with NVC?

I won't be at the interview. My doctor will be providing me with an excuse for travel. I will scan it in and email it to him. I just knew that there had to be a better way with the Kingston Embassy. So many other Embassies are much faster than Kingston with scheduling the interview. Now, we have a shortcut to save a month or two or three. LOL

5 MONTHS JAWI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg.. i am sooo freaking happy for u i could cry right now.. A will be here this summer OMG!!!!!!!!!!

thank u jesus, this woman sooo deserves this!!!

Thank you Quana! It has been a long fruitful journey for us. God is making it possible for me to have my July 1st anniversary wedding. However, I don't want him to head back to Jamaica at the end of this month and then head back out to America without having some time with his girls first. He will be very busy running around with the medical and stuff...so we will push back the date he actually arrives here. We are still trying to figure that out because we want to go back to Jamaica for Christmas/New Years.

I am so NOT prepared for the $$ part of this! Let me say some prayers and lay it at the altar! In Jesus' name! Amen!

Okay focus! What's next? Can I schedule the medical from my laptop while laying in bed? Let me go investigate.:blush::dance::wacko:

We are waiting for NVC to generate the AOS bill for the 400 dollars payment, then e will send in his passport and police record information. I have everything ready to be mailed and the mone waiting to be paid. I am okay with a July date, because I want to go back to Jamaica for a week, then like you, we wnat to go back home for Christmas.

CONGRATS Jawi;

You're blessed because others have done the same thing and had no luck. That has always been an option, especially if it would be difficult for your fiance to get to Kingston. Glad you're past that step. Your (STB) hubby will be here soon.

Nope. We already had the Packet 3 ready with signatures and no dates. So our DS-230 actually beat the petition from NVC by about 2-3 days (this is what worried me the most)...I included a cover letter stating that he was in Canada and would be traveling back for the express purpose of the interview. I requested a date in June 2009. Then, I sent 2 emails (one last week and one this week) to both kingston email addresses confirming that the DS-230 was delivered and signed for by xyz, and requesting a date in June. It worked. I will send another email tomorrow asking for a copy of the Packet 4 that was mailed out.

I know that this is God working...but faith works for anyone. You are only out of $30-$40 bucks trying it this way...worse case scenario is that you still have to schedule the appointment to drop it off. But it cut a lot of wait time off this part of the process. I'm happy.

I am truly blessed outside of this...all the way around. God knows that I just need my mate home with me...I have been so down lately with the pain. Today feels as good as the NOA2 approval. Now for the interview approval!:innocent:

Mrs. Palmer is probably right along side with me, but she isn't rushing because she doesn't want an interview date until late Sept or eary Oct.
