hello to all members of vj..

we applied crba n us passport application for our daughter..her appointement interview will be on june 15,now weres still gathering some of the requirements needed that the consul might ask on the day of the interview..i was reading this legitimation requiremnts that the embassy send us..here are the legitimation requirementS:by the way am already done with my k1 interview so now were just waiting for our daughter's application.

LEGITIMATION REQUIREMENTS:

Persons born out of wedlock to us citizen fathere and not legitimated by the natural parents subsequent marriage can be legitimated under the immigration and nationality act by one of the two methods indicated:

legitimation method 1- the us citizen father must submit evidence showing that he had legal residence or domicile in any of the states(after his childs birth and before his childs 21st birthday)in order to use the laws of the state to legitimize the applicant. This evidence may include driver license, voter registration card,rental/mortgage/bank receipts, military records, old letter(with us return address)etc...Legitimation requirements requirements vary depending on the state legitimation law OR

legitimation method 2- The person can be legitimated if:

1. the father(unless deceased)has agreed in writing(under oath)to provide financial support

for the person until the person reaches the age of 18 years and

2. while the person is under the age of 18 years-

a. the person is legitimated under the law of persons residence or domicile,

b. the father acknowledges paternity of person in writing under oath,or

c. the paternity of person is established by adjudication of a competent court.

MY QUESTION IS:

About the method number 2,does my fiance need to have it in writing and have it notarize or is there a form that we need to download or what?

date of birth of person applying applicable legitimation age by which legitimation

for us citizenship method must occur

had attained 18 as of

11/14/86 and those

whose paternity was es

No downloadable forms for this. Tell your fiance to do it by himself. I mean let him type it thru computer, indicating the process of what method you're into and let him notarized the papers in US.
