Hi guys!

I am Married to an American and I'm living in the States with her. We applied for my I-485 and my I-765 July 2nd, 2008. I've gone through my application and my fingerprints have been taken, recieved my Work Permit and my Greencard Interview was Dec 12th of 2008. Now I'm still waiting on my Greencard but my EAD is due to expire in August of this year. Do I renew my Work permit and how would I go about reapplying for a new one? What would I need to send with the application etc... Any Help any of you can give me would be greatly appreciated

-Drew

What did they tell you at the Dec 2008 interview? Has your online status changed? I would first definitely call USCIS or make Infopass to ask if your AOS was approved or not.

If your AOS is still processing or has other delay (like name check), you will need to renew your EAD. Just download the EAD form and fill it in as before, except you check "renewal" box. You can file electronically via the USCIS website:

I totally agree with the above post by ELW. First of all, you have to find out what happened to your case.

I mean you were approved or not ? Why does it take so long to approve after the successful interview ?

Almost 6 months is too long to get the answer. After you do this inquiry, then you apply for the renewal of EAD

on-line which is no charge.

GOOD LUCK & STAY COOL !.....

If there is some reason to believe your greencard is not forthcoming soon, you should be filing for your second EAD as soon as possible.

Common wisdom has always been to file about 120 days before it expires. It sounds like you are already past that point.

It will likely take 90 days to receive the second card.
