hi there mena couples .i have a question for you all.well in a marriage do couples talk to eachother before they purchase anything expensive.or are they supposed to buy what they want without talking about it.just go and buy anything they want without the other persons knowing.in a marriage i thought well being an american.that they talk about the finances before they purchase anything expensive.is it supposed to be communication between both before spending.or is it not like that anymore.please mena let me know.and please dont be judgemental like alot of people on here are.which makes some people not even want to post.just let me know mena have a blessed day everyone.and thank u in advance for your imput

communication is key

that said, not all married couples communicate the same way

and not all marriages last

but there is not a perfect overlap between marriages that don't last and marriages that communicate ineffectively

in allot of different mena cultures..the male amkes the decisions on major purchases....hopefully, with advice and consent from their wife....

but brother arijit is correct..communciation is open and needed

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

but never a guarantee of success

nor is a failure to communicate always a death sentence for a new marriage

ya just never know

I would say yes, you should definitely communicate first about the big expenses.

thats what i thought.thats good because it seems that most want to buy what they want to buy.with no communication at all.whatsoever.just buy what they want thats strange.because what about her

me personaly buy what i want without asking my husband, the reason being is..#1 hubby doesnt work, it's my money (well...ours) #2 my husband could care less what i buy, or about money. BUT, if by chance my husband suggested that I inform him before making a purchase, i would consider it. My husband doesnt control me, nor do I him. Now, i'm getting ready to buy a new BMW, because that is such a big purchase,I will inform my husband that I will buy it, but i wont ask his permission.

we discuss any major decision, appliances, cars, electronics, etc and we talk to each other when we're buying something out of the ordinary, things that we don't buy every day, like when i spent $300 on cloth diapers the other day, we discussed it first, i didn't just go and bought it. we usually don't just go and buy stuff without talking to each other first, unless for example i'm buying brazilian food online, or he's working on something in the house and he needede to replace, things like that.
