I will be head to Thailand in under 3 weeks and hope this will be the last time, before the trip to bring my family to the US. That's a Big HOPE.

We will be spending a lot of time in BKK. The question is what can we get done while we are there. We would not have got package 3 yet.

Right now we are are going for a K3. I know I know what people are going to say go CR1. If someone can say for sure it will be fast then we will go that way. I don't care about the cost, Just time. She don't drive or need a job when she comes to USA and my work health insurance covers her now while she is in Thailand, so she don't need a SS fast for that also

But also while I am there I want to make sure I can do both, just in case.

Thanks

John

gather documents for you next step.

take more pics as evidences for bonafide marriage.

Well the main Evidendces is the fact we have a son together and other child on the way. We have some pictures, I go there every 2-3 months and I send her WU every 2 weeks.

I was thinking if we can do the PCC and the medical while we are in BKK at that time or does she have to make a special trip back when she gets the package 3.

Download P 3 & make sure you have the checklist items ready including the police report. The medical could be done as well. When you are sure the case is at the embassy send the items on the list to them. You do not have to wait until the P # is recieved.

The last cases I know about that went thru BKK took 30 to 60 days to schedual interview after reciept of P 3.

You can download most of the packet 3 from travel.state.gov and have it ready... then she wont have the WHOLE thing to fill out when she gets it.

She can get her medical and police clearance whiel you are there also

well.....

Your consulate actually has the packets available for DL and a link to all forms needed, lucky you guys heh heh: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/packets.html

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Agreed, start looking at the future documentation required. Fill out what you can, and have her collect the documents she needs on her end.

This way you can tick and tie your documents and focus on the interview.

Grrr I forgot the if we do a medical, they may want to do the immunization. She could be pregnant when we go for the medical. I guess we can wait on the medical that only takes 1 day to do. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the PCC in Thailand.

It has you need a letter from the embassy to get a PCC so can you ready do it ahead of getting the packet ?

notice from the US Embassy regarding your case (i.e. a packet 3 cover letter) can be

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Take ALOT of photos.

It kinda hard to take photos of both of us together. But we try.

I have some of Songkran 2008, our wedding studio pictures , Our Wedding day has like 350. Her Grandmothers funeral which had a lot of political people do to the fact they use the flame from the king to start the crematory, Loi Krathong & Candle Festival and Songkran 2009 also my sister and her husband was with us for that.

I was just start to work on the album how many picture do you think is good. Do both of us have to be in all the pictures ? Should I put narratives on them ? There was a lot of local politicians and police at our wedding, should I note that on the pictures ? Do you think it would matter ?

K-3 takes approximately the same amount of time as CR-1. The advantage of the CR-1 is receiving permanent residency immediately upon entering USA and not having to deal with Department of Homeland Security again as K visas must do i.e. Adjustment of Status process.

Police certificate can take two weeks. People are reporting that they are now asking for a 200 Baht 'fee.' You may want to order 2 copies, in case the embassy loses the first one or demands an original though one has already been submitted, which has also been reported recently.

Best to have photos of the two of you together. I understand that usually it's one or the other of you behind the lens as that is how it is with my fiancée and myself. She told me of a lady who had brought in about 20 to 30 photos and was asked to bring more, so she took 700.
