Note: all of this is sent to NVC when you send them the DS-230 for a CR-1 visa. NVC will then send all of this to the consulate for you.

You only need to take care of the medical and vaccinations before the interview, and perhaps bring some evidence of bonafide relationship, like photos, letters etc... to the interview.

Sounds like you have a very complete list. I too brought copies of all of the documents that I'd sent to the NVC just to be on the safe side. I went to the interview with my husband and we were not asked for any photos, letters, emails, plane tickets or anything. But we had all of the documents just in case.

Best of Luck to you!!

Yes, that's true!

But in very rare case, Consular officer may have some problem to find the documents NVC sent.

I heard one case like that a couple of years ago.

Probably that's why KeralianNY have full/complete lists of documents for this case.

So sometimes if you have the copy of all you did submit, it might be helpful even though it is heavy and troublesome to carry those.

VFS?

I am not very familiar with VFS but I think VFS is only valid to India. Immigration people have these offices setup in major cities of India where you can submit different documents based on visa type. For CR1/IR1, we only submit a courier fee to ship the passport back after visa gets approved. Here is a link: https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/Home.aspx

WOW... what a big list! ... now i'm worry... Does everybody need all that documents?? Because I found this information at this site http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3741.html

Required Documents

The applicant is responsible for ensuring that all required documents are available at the time of the interview. While the applicant may have previously submitted the majority of required documents to the National Visa Center (NVC), the applicant may not have submitted all necessary documents to the NVC. Failure to bring all required documentation to the interview may result in a delay in visa issuance or a visa refusal. The following documents must be available for the interview:

Appointment Letter

Passport(s) valid for six months beyond the intended date of entry into the United States

Police Certificate(s)

Birth Certificate(s)

Court and prison records, if applicable

Military records, if applicable

Color photographs

Marriage Certificate, if applicable

Evidence of financial support (e.g. Affidavit of Support, a notarized offer of employment, or evidence of assets)

Divorce decree or death certificate of spouse, if applicable

Family-based cases: All original documents used to establish the relationship between the petitioner and the applicant

Do we need to bring the original NOA 2 (approval)??? or can we just scan it and print it???

I'll print the Immigrant visa fee receipe, because sometimes they tell you "Approved... now you can go to pay the visa... " and we already pay $400 for the visa...

this is sooo true...i brought a ton of stuff with us to my wife's interview...all they wanted to see was 5 pics out of the 300 pics i brought, no e-mails, no greeting cards, no phone records ...etc...all the other paperwork and copies were dead weight i carried...BUT...after going through what you both have, what inconvience would it be to carry a box of paperwork for a few hours...GOOD LUCK
