OK I feel we did it wrong, But we really wanted very much to be together we had our I-130 approved before I-129f but once we had our I-129F approved we stopped the CR1 since we thought the k3 will make me there with my husband faster but now I sent package 3 bakc at the end of may and we contacted the embassy by emails and they said thay have July already full "although they told us before my interview will be in July" and when we emailed them again they said ..it will be in August ..

so my question now if we continued our I-130 ." look to my timeline"

when do you think we will have my interview and my case forwarded to the embassy???

you cant really STOP the I-130. because the I-129f is just to allow your husband to wait in the USA for the I-130 approval at this point when your I-129f reaches the embassy you may interview for it. now if you find your I-130 is at the embassy while waiting for your I-129f interview it will cancell. the I-130 takes precidence because, its the green card. really its easir to have hubby come on CR1 < I-130 >

because, when he gets here on K-3 you have to AOS. belive me its hellish to AOS. Your husband is from

egypt. more than likely he will have AP/AR fate. which means. you may have to wait several months til you have hubby home in the mean time - again if the I-130 is at the embassy - your k-3 < I-129f > will cancell.

now if the I-130 reaches the embassy the same time as the I-129f. the embassy will merge the two cases.

again cancelling the I-129f

I wanted to add. that sometimes of you are on AP/AR. if you use the K-3. you will more than likely

be on AP/AR while waiting AOS. it happend to Cindishah and Mike H.

I noticed something . you might as well kiss the k-3 good by.

you already have paid the fees and its on its way to the Embassy. since the embassy proble knows its comming. your best bet is keep persuing the I-130. if you dont they will proble delay your interview til you do.

you will be here fast then.. relax.. you should go for the I-130 because, it will spare you

AOS hell. you dont wanna have 2 nerve racking interviews. when one is all you really need.

maybe if you finish the stuff now. you can have the I-130 interview on the day you have the K-3.

so this is good news for you. if you are willing to wait a little longer. I know you would love to not have to deal with this stuff for 2 peaceful years.. :luv: . plus you get EAD, SSN quickly.. :)

yes they can delay the K-3.. :(

they did that to us. then they ultimately cancelled it. they cancelled the K-3

while we sat on AP/AR for 6 months. we are now 10 months 4 days into AP/AR still nothing.

The embassy usually only take CR-1 package over K-3 if it reaches embassy at the same time. It happened to us that the consulate has our I-129F package 2 weeks before our I-130 package, both from NVC. They tried to schedule the K-3 interview for me but since I knew my I-130 was completed and on its way, I asked them to change interview for the CR-1 instead of K-3. I do not think the consulate were aware that my I-130 was about to arrive.

I am not familiar with consulate in Egypt, but it might be just that the consulate handles a lot of immigrant visa that it takes months to get interview scheduled ? JMO

M+S,

K visas are processed by the immigrant visa unit of the consulate, so the interview backlog may be the same for both visa types.

Applying now for the immigrant visa will not get you an interview any sooner than the K3 interview for which application has already been made.

Yodrak

I would go for the Cr1. since AOS really will be a nightmare for you.

take example mike h. took his wife well over 9months to get AOS interview

and they had to have 2 of them. she was on AR/AP in the USA. it was not fun at all.

We really don't care how much time AOS takes since I will be studying not working and all I want is to be with my husband ..AR as long as we are together will be no problem then " I hope"

I don't believe it would have made a difference. We filled the CR1 from the beggining and was told the exact same thing. That our interview would be in July then we recived another e-mail saying July was full and we would recive it in Aug. Good Luck

We never did the K3 Visa, we are only doing the CR1. My husband just went for his Medical and our appointment for the interview in Cairo is July 26. I called the embassy and if he has his results early, he can move the date up for the interview as long as the embassy has all the file from the U.S.

After they received my I864 it was one week til they set the appointment schedule. But it took 2 weeks to mail the forms and medical to me. Then I mailed it to my husband in Egypt.

Plan on the medical will cost more than what it says on the paper. Also, when you go to the doctor, he should have like a "tip" for the nurse. This way the papers are processed quickly. My husband took like $500 le to his medical and got the results the next day. But someone else went and it took 10 days. So if you have extra money, so do it to get your papers faster.

Also, if you get the papers back early, you can call the embassy to see if you can move the date up for your interview. Maybe someone else gets cancelled or something. But don't cancel your original date, until you know if you can move to earlier date.

If you want to ask more, so send me a private to my email.
