Noticing a trend in wifeofmahmoud's topics...

 Agenda anyone?

Not unlike most who reply in these threads...

I guess, it's just the *wrong* agenda.

Which is exactly why I avoid political discussions...

Now, where's that Visa???

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Wife of Mahmoud sounds a keeper!

And some people from the middle east region are all confused when their petitions get held up for 'adminstration reviews'.

Confused? No. Upset? Yes. It's not like we're naive to what goes on in the world around us. However, that doesn't mean we need to meekly acquiesce and accept it.

I think it's interesting to see the different topics wife_of_mahmoud has been posting. It's something I may not read otherwise. Certainly people who live in the middle east/north africa are seeing these stories, and that's why a lot of them feel the way they do about Israel and the U.S., because it's what they see everyday in the newspaper and on tv. We wonder why a lot of people are anti-U.S. and anti-Israel, and it's because of what they are constantly hearing and seeing, and it doesn't put us in a positive light.

Most media is extremely one-sided, here in the U.S., and abroad. In the ME, they're not seeing the positive stories about the U.S. giving the Iraqis food and aid, they're seeing the stories about rape and murder by U.S. troops. Here, we're seeing stories about all of the terrorism being committed by the radical islamists, but we might not see a story such as this where western tourists are killed by Israelis. I hope that on a Middle Eastern website, someone is posting links to the positive stories about the U.S., like wife_of_mahmoud is doing here. That way a lot of people will be more informed about BOTH sides of the story, and not just see everything so black and white.

Just my opinion.

Shocking isn't it, that people would actually want to show support when a member is constantly attacked ad hominem over and over. :luv:

Political discussions only work when people discuss the issues and not the messanger.

Jewish terrorism is a real and growing problem in the region. The Kahanists come to mind as the worst of them (save Yigal Amir, who assasinated Rabin). PBS made a documentary available online if you would like to learn more:

Kahanist Movement

A glimmer of hope is provided by the fact that Israel has labelled them a racist group, and arrested, tried, and jailed those directly involved with attempted terrorist attacks. Israel also stopped the attack planned in this video.

Times like this I am glad Luz has banned me from the political discussions. I can see where this could get out of hand!! Peace everyone. We are all in this together.
