Would you go home to Canada....?

  1. 1. Would you go home to Canada if you knew you would only be there for 2 days and it takes 8 hours to drive there and back and you knew some of your friends wouldn't even be around?

I've done it in the past, although I voted it would depend on other variables. Since you're that close to the border and have the time, go for it - and enjoy!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I think I may...I also think I m ight take my brothers to see Toronto FC this Saturday. Just for fun for the three of us.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Unless you have flying down to an artform! I used to leave my bf's place in Queens at 5:30 a.m. and be sitting at my desk at work in downtown Toronto by 9 a.m. Way faster than driving. But then again, I did have certain location advantages... but it is possible.

Plus there are a lot of unknown variables in driving too - traffic, waits at a gas station, bathroom breaks, line at the border (I've waited at the border 3 hours before, both ways)... so 8 hours could turn into 10 just as easily.

haha you do have it down to an artform! Those early morning flights are mostly on time though and with you working in Toronto, you have got that made! That is sweet.

I have to take the dogs with me so...I have to drive. But driving doesnt bother me at all.

It was pretty sweet, although I'm really glad to never have to do it again. The last time I did it, I cut it SO close! I ran from the security line to my gate without my shoes on (my instinct told me to just run) and when I got to the gate, they were just about to finish boarding!! After that I realized that it probably wasn't the smartest idea to cut things so close!
