Hi,

I got my EAD card on Monday. It was approved in 1.5 month after i applied both I-765 and I-485.. Now do I need to get a social security number? How? (bwt i have a ssn-i got it when i studied in the states in 2003)

May 2nd, 2008 -- Visa Interview = Approved. (91days)

May 27th, 2008 -- Damian moves to America!

July 23rd - 30th, 2008 -- Damian's Mum Comes to the US for our wedding.

July 25th, 2008 -- Wedding Day!

March 16th, 2009 -- AOS Sent

May 8th, 2009 -- EAD & AP Approved (51days)

July 14th, 2009 -- AOS Approved!! (118days)

July 21st, 2009 -- Green Card Received (125days)

No RFEs the whole process :) All done myself.

December 4th - 30th, 2009 -- Visited England

April 8th - 30th, 2010 -- Damian's Brother visits us here in PA.

January 19th, 2010 -- Damian got his PA license.

December 10th - 19th, 2010 -- Visited England

September 16th - 30th, 2011 -- Damian's Parents came to visit us here in PA.

June 1st, 2011 -- Mailed ROC to Vermont.

February 21st, 2012 -- 10 Year Green Card Received

April 14th, 2012 -- N-400 Sent to Dallas Lockbox

November 26th, 2012 – Damian Became a US Citizen!!!

Congrats !...

You can not have another SS#, just get the replacement one it will say like this

" VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION "

"Patience is the key to the paradise (US Citizenship, in our case)"

I would take your card to the local SS office to verify its valid for work. They will need your passport, EAD, B cert ect to I D you.

06/02/2011 - Package arrived and signed for at CSC

06/02/2011 - NOA receipt date

06/06/2011 - Check cashed

06/07/2011 - NOA arrived in the mail

06/15/2011 - Biometrics appointment letter arrived in the mail

07/11/2011 - Biometrics appointment

02/02/2012 - Phoned USCIS and put in a service request

02/08/2012 - Email from USCIS confirming my request

02/11/2012 - Letter from USCIS - says i should receive news within 30 days

03/14/2012 - Phoned USCIS again. 30 days has passed. no news. Took details again.

03/15/2012 -Received letter from USCIS - have to go to interview April 24th

04/24/2012 - Interview and ROC approved!!

05/07/2012 - Received email, card production ordered

05/11/2012 - Green card arrived

N-400

06/22/2012 - Mailed N-400 package to Phoenix/AZ Lockbox

06/26/2012 - NOA date

06/28/2012 - Check cashed

06/29/2012 - NOA arrived in the mail

07/02/2012 - Biometrics appointment letter arrived in mail

07/19/2012 - Biometrics appointment

07/30/2012 - Received text +email. Application placed in line for interview

07/30/2012 - Received text +email in evening - interview letter sent

You don't need to get a new SSN.

All you have to do is go to any SS office and present your EAD, and if you like, had your name changed from your maiden name to your married name..

My was also quick approval - 44days! as well as AP :dance:

I went to DMV today and the lady at the counter asked for ssn and she told me that i have to change my name on ss card so i m gonna do it tom.

Thank you all! and tesekkurler Cino :) The funny thing is that i got really bored at home but i won't be able to work soon. Because I am pregnant :) we'll go to vacation in June and then my belly will get bigger and nobody will hire me for a few months... but i won't get bored after the baby comes..that is for sure :)
