Hello Everyone!!!

This is my first post here, but I read a lot here at VJ... I'm so sad and depressed because there's no NOA1 showing up until now... I have read here and have few friends here with similar timeline, but they got their NOA1 after they mailed it... My fiancee mailed the I-129F last May6, it's been two weeks now that we're waiting... My fiancee is so calm, he doesn't even mind, he believe that we'll gonna wait for months... I have read here that the waiting time should be 2-3weeks, but the next week will be our 3rd week... I told him to call USCIS yesterday but he's very busy now... Please enlighten me that all we be fine or what... I'm so worried about the notice that is nowhere to be found now:-(

dont start the stressing now its a longer road than a few weeks, have you checked to see if the check cleared, sometimes the notices take longer etc....breath, relax, breath, relax

They are a bit slow right now it seems with the K1's ( Busy with those work Visas I guess ) .... you SO is right though ... many many months of waiting ... the first NOA1 is nice to receive but after you get it you realize ... wow now the real wait starts ... because you won't hear ANYTHING for 2-5 months while you wait for NOA2 ... I suspect you will receive your NOA1 in the next week or so though.

where in same boat...my hsuband sent the package May 4 but still no NOA1 yet

but we are patiently wait for that cuz we know they have a lot of papers works.

So,don't worry ,you'll be alright.

The NOA1 is a fancy piece of paper that says they received your petition. If you used certified mail or FedEX, you already know they received it and the NOA1, a very unimportant document, gets mailed sometime after...up to 30 days or more. It does NOT delay processing of your case and the received date on the letter (NOA1 date) will be the day received it, even if the letter is sent a month later.

The main reason VJ even records the NOA1 date is to get an idea of processing time. When yours comes, your NOA1 date will be May 8th or 9th and that is what you will put in your timeline, as it IS your NOA1 date. Then others will look at YOUR timeline and say "WOW, she got her NOA1 in 3 days!"

If your fiancee used a personal check for payment he can get a copy of the back of the check, this will have the USCIS case number and then you can go play with the useless online update system if you want to get further depressed.

Hi there!

I was like that before, hehe. And just like you fiance, mine was just cool and relaxed, and was telling me to just wait. So when he checked online and saw that the check was already cashed, I was happy and relieved. And a few days after that, we go the NOA1.

Just wait and don't panic, It will come one of these days :)

Was the check cashed? There are other ways to see whether your petition is received. I would worry if check is not cashed... usually they cash the check immediately but may or may not issue the NOA 1 right away.

2/18/2009: Mailed I-129F Form

2/20/2009: NOA 1 Receipt Date

3/20/2009: NOA 2 Notice Approval Date

05/28/2009: Interview APPROVED

Thank you everybody for the enlightenment,hahaha, I'm somehow relieved... My fiancee called USCIS a minute ago that our case is still pending for approval... Yeah I need to breath and relax more because of this stress I'm seriously in trouble with my asthma attacks,haha... Oh my I should do away with all this stress and leave in to my fiancee, I might die soon,whew huhhhhh... But I can't help it, my fiancee is the coolest man ever... To make the story short,our first I-129f was lost by UPS INTERNATIONAL, my fiancee never get mad... Ohhh me, I do a lot of crying and blaming to the courier,awwwwwwww... The time lost and money and all,awwww....

That's my tragic case to file for this precious petition,whew.

Anyway, I really appreciate all who replied... I'm so thankful that my fiancee found this site... I love you guys!!! I'll keep you posted... Thank you for appeasing my mind guys!!!
