Why haven't my fiancee receive anything yet?

The NVC sent me their letter dated April 8th, 2009. It stated that my fiancee will soon receive information from the consulate. It's been more than a month now. She has yet to receive anything. I sent an email to the NVC, but haven't got a reply yet. When I received the letter from the NVC like I did, I shouldn't have to do anything right? I just wait? Is my wait about right? What does this all mean? I hope my fiancee will get some answer soon. If she still doesn't receive anything by end of June, I'm going to be very worried. Please shed some light on this for me. Thanks.

If NVC sent a mail to you, call them and find out if they have a case # for your K1 and also ask whether your info was forwarded to the embassy. For my K3, NVC sent me a mail saying that the case has been forwarded to the embassy and embassy will mail the details. I recieved a interview appointment email from the embassy with attachments and also embassy sent a mail to the beneficiary. After the approval;for us It took a month to recieve the email and another 1 more week beneficiary to recieve the instruction packet through mail from the embassy.

This was K3, not sure if there is a big difference for K1..

You need to call the NVC at 603.334.0700. They will ask for your case number (on the letter you received) and names & birth dates for you and the beneficiary. Ask them when your case was sent on the the foreign consulate. Sometimes they are delayed for up to 50 days (see thread pinned at the top of this page).

Fax a letter to your Embassy/Consulate and ask them to open a provisional file for your fiance. Send a copy of your NOA2 and the letter that you received from the NVC. The consulate should send your fiance a packet with the information that is needed in order to proceed with the K1.

Best of luck to you!

Well, I talked to the secretary at the attorney's office. She told me to fill out this casework form, it's a federal agency help form. I don't know if it helps, but the attorney that I hired to handle my case is now a congressman. It sure didn't speed up the progress as far as a whole. So who knows if this form will help. Also, the secretary told me to tell my fiancee to go to the consulate in Vietnam and ask them if they have anything for her. We'll see if either of these help at all.

Did you call the NVC to make sure the case has been sent on to the foreign consulate? That's the first step. It could be stuck there for "additional processing" at the NVC. I'm not sure a congressional inquiry can do much now - you have alrady been approved.

I think that what the casework form is for, to see the status of my case. Like whether or not it have left NVC or still stuck there for AP. The NVC still haven't reply to my email. I sent it last week. On their website, they said email was the best way to contact them.

Calling is much better. You will get an immediate answer as to whether your case has been sent on or not. Not sure why you are resisting calling them.

I'm going to give the NVC a call. I think that's best. Crazy attorney of mine. Told me to fax some papers to their office so they could help, but their fax machine broke.

OMG. I found out what was wrong. I called up the NVC and even the Washinton D.C. office to find out what's going on. They told me the consulate in Ho Chi Minh received the packet on April 20th. They were waiting for a response from my fiancee. My fiancee told me she didn't receive anything. Anyway, I think there is a bit of a mix up on the address part. A part of her address suppose to be F6.Q6, but instead it said P6.Q6. What am I suppose to do now? They told me I should contact the Ho Chi Minh consulate office. You think they can resend the packet to the correct address? However, isn't P6 and F6 the same? Someone in Vietnam experience please tell me. Would just someone like that mess things up?

Ok, so I called the consulate there, but nobody answered my calls. I called the number a few times, I pressed the number to talk to a live person, it just rang and rang, nobody answered. A few times, after a few rings, it automatically hang up on me. Anybody have any experience with the consulate in HCM? I emailed them last week, still no reply.

Calling the phone number, they will never let you talk to anyone about your case. Best way is to email them and wait for them to respond. They do take long but eventually they do respond. If you were in Vietnam you could go up to the consulate and talk to them about your case in person. That could be the best way if you were in Vietnam. I am not sure but your wife might be able to talk to the people in the front window and see if they would let her in.
