Killing the animal may not be "murder" but is an outrageous form of intimidation to the dog's owner.

I'm pretty sure Jeffrey Dahmer and Ed Gein both started by torturing and killing animals.

Dahmer did. Not sure about Gein.

Of course it's outrageous and horrifying, and this psycho deserves the maximum penalty. But applying the term "murder" to the slaughter of an animal is what's known as "incorrect usage" in the journalism biz. Not trying to minimize what he did. Just my days as a copy editor kicking in.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
