Good evening Everyone,

I am in need of assistance from my fellow female VJ'ers from Brazil.

Not to be graphic in by any means, but I am needing help in understanding the specific exams which you were required to undertake for your medical. I found out today from my fiance that she will need to endure a number of exams with a physican which she does not know and feels completely uncomfortable about. Further, she advised me that there will be a test about the condition of her back that could possibly disqualify her...which I certainly do not understand (she has a lower back problem).

Any input or feedback you could provide I would appreciate very much.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

She don´t have to worry about the medical exam.

They will request a sifilis and HIV test and a X-ray of the lung.

The doctor will also ask her a few questions about her health (nothing to worry about).

Is very quick...and when she received the envelope with the results, pls don´t open the sealed one. That one she needs to bring sealed to the interview, also inside the medical exam packet, there´s hers results, so she can see if there´s something wrong or not.

Normally when there´s something wrong, the doctor will talk to the person before deliver the tests.

Good luck!

What about gynological exam items (specific female "tests")? Did you have to endure these? Were you able to use your own female doctor to confirm these tests for the consulate physican?

No...the embassy doctor will perform all the tests and examination..and the gynological one is more like questions...he don´t even touch her.

She don´t have to go to her person doctor or anything, the embassy doctor will take care and u don´t have to go after anyone to confirm any kind of test.

My experience with the doctor assigned by the Consulate was similar to julis, however I did get my own gynecologist for the paps and other female tests, using my own health insurance. I don't remember if the consulate doctor asked for specific female tests, but I do remember the blood test for HIV and syphilis and the x-ray of the lungs (which, by the way you don't have to take to the interview with you) and TB. I also had to update my vaccines - tetanus and MMRs

I've never seen anybody getting denied for having back problems - I myself have arthritis in one of my lower back vertebras.

I guess all they are looking for is contagious diseases and possible threats to public health. Relax, and good luck! :star:

Endure? All women have gyno tests and we make it out alive. Some women even have children :o !

Don't worry - the medical exam is not any more invasive than any other doctor's visit.
