Just wondering if anyone can clear my confusion. Is there is a time limit on how long the letter of intent is valid? How will I know if I need to update it?

We had original ones sent with the I-129F application. We wrote updated ones that we mailed back with Packet 3 (or you can bring to the interview). Something recent is better than what you sent with the I-129F, because its probably been many months.

my fiance and i hired an immigration specialist and we sent all our papers to them but i don't remember having written a letter of intent, should i be worried? they ddn't ask us to anyway...

Don't be too worried - we didn't have any and we got approved. As always, depends on the adjudicator, but I would go ahead and write them, get them together (it takes time to mail stuff like that) in case you get an RFE.

We had updated ones for the interview but we weren't asked for them. One of the forms that Josue had to fill out had that on it (that he was going to marry me within 90 days) and he had to sign it in front of the officer.
